  • I used to make $2.35/h when I was in the service industry. Without my customers I would’ve been fucked. What’s worse is on a slow night, I really did get fucked.

I think that should be the point, employees should not be taking on the risk of a business doing poorly. That's the business owner's responsibility and risk, to be mitigated by them. Not screwing over a waiter because it was a slow night. Or because they were unlucky to work a tuesday night over a busy Saturday night.

  • I think that's my experience as well playing modern games as well. Seems CPU is a bottle neck. Hogwarts Legacy gets 25-40 frames no matter if I put the graphics on high or medium, BG3 is similar. I think the CPU is holding it back

  • Modern game engines don't use the amazing SSAA (super sampling anti aliasing). Most have post processing anti aliasing like FXAA or TXAA which always makes edges look fuzzy. Source engine is one of those that still supports super sampling

  • Honestly I have a gtx1080 and I can run BG3 at close to ultra settings for around 30-60fps. I think my actual issue is my CPU I have an i7 3770 which came out in like 2012. And I have like ddr 3 ram from 10 years ago as well.

  • You can use the terminal commands to automate tasks, build cicd etc. Navigating file tree and performing tasks is much quicker once you get the hang of it. Lastly it translates well on all distros and even on Mac, or windows with wsl or cygwin
