  • Republicans haven't given up claiming voter fraud is rampant, and they should know. They're the ones perpetrating it.

  • And Trump is anything but stable. Are some assholes lining up to fund him? sure. they're voting anybody in who'll push their policies in. (and by voting, I mean bribing the fucking hell out of everyone.)

Because they're confident that they're isolated from the chaos their policies will bring thanks to their walled communities and private armies. Feudalism 2.0. If the king creates too much chaos and disrupts their income, they'll assassinate him and install a new one.

  • One of the things the article addresses is how the Fed is gauging wages catching up to inflation.

  • "Fiscally conservative" shouldn't be mistaken for "fiscally responsible." They long ago lost the right to make the claim of the latter.

  • Because then Republicans can justify throwing it out if it doesn't favor them. It doesn't have to make sense as long as they can have it declared legal.

  • I've made many posts here discussing the impact of Biden's economic policy. It all got shouted down by people complaining that since they don't perceive any improvement, there mustn't be any.

Witness also the comments reacting to this article arguing that there's been no improvement for any but the elite.

  • The Fourteenth Amendment does, and by a plain reading of the text it should disqualify Trump from being on any ballot. But clearly this judge took the coward's way out and instead made a judgment on fact without touching how that fact should affect Colorado ballots. The Amendment doesn't make any provision for the popularity of a candidate with regard to eligibility.

  • Well, it's a bit more complicated than that. The rent-seeking class prefers higher interest rates because they get higher returns on their investments. They've been lobbying the Fed to raise interest rates for over a decade, and they've finally gotten their wish.

  • They have been. And they've been shouted down more often than not.

  • He knows the MAGAts in his district will crucify him if he doesn't back Trump. So of course he's not going to stand by his principles. He's going to do whatever it takes to hold on to power.

Meijer faces a tough primary in the race to replace retiring Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.); he’s going up against former Rep. Mike Rogers, who largely occupies the mainstream GOP lane, and former Detroit Police Chief James Craig, who’s a Trumpier figure. The National Republican Senatorial Committee has already come out against him, saying he can’t win.

    Yup, I called it.

  • What about in his district? Will this actually affect his chances at getting re-elected, or does it just dash his hopes of advancing to governor or senator?

  • Where in your screed did you offer a nuanced view? All I saw was "bOTh SiDeS!"

  • Sure he hasn't been perfect. But given how your criticism levied against him always paints him as someone who has done nothing for the average American, that list becomes a lot more relevant.

I would love for Biden to do better. I think we should continue to push him in that direction. But to describe his Presidency as a failure or somehow equivalent to Trump's time in office is extremely dishonest.

  • I don't understand how anyone thinks an 81 year old person should be leader of a nation. And will they ever produce good stuff instead of what they've been trying and failing to do for so many years and it hurts the people.

When will they help the citizens instead of funding the military and fancy projects that waste money, cutting taxes for billionaires and raising them for the poor, cut social security, cut medicare, cut this, cut that, more money to the military.

  • I'm sure some are, but they shouldn't be. Meanwhile, the MFL assholes are probably claiming it's all just a smear campaign.

  • There's an obligatory reminder that he is not a drag queen that should go here. Since conservatives keep insisting that drag queens are all (or mostly) pedophiles.

  • Also … Yes, Biden is old.

Has anyone attempted to dispute this? Is this why it keeps getting brought up? And how has his age affected his capabilities? Give me specifics, please.
