I don't even understand the hate. It works well, stable, fast and pretty decent on RAM. Even early on I haven't had any major issues.
There was a financial calculator from HP that they made for decades. The newer ones were so fast doing large mortgage calculations that the users didn't trust it, so they intentionally slowed down the results.
Following a long how-to to install/configure something, just to get to step 99 and have the command not work, and not being able to find the solution.
As a former IT guy you'll get what you need when you need it by not being a pissy fart.
