Okay, fair enough!

There is discussion on going at !news@lemmy.world currently about new rules. Users posting the same story from the same source will be blocked by an automod. I asked about users posting the same story from different sources, and apparently that's absolutely fine. So expect this problem to get a lot worse before steps have to be taken to make it better :/

Not all clients support this (yet). I only found out about this recently and have to go to the browser to use the crosspost feature.

This makes sense. Homes for a large numbers of additional people were needed, and these homes were available.

Out of interest, what made you stop Postcrossing? I used to do it a lot, but the huge increase in stamp prices made me knock it on the head.

Is it just because of a funding crisis, or is it also because of rising prices partly due to sheer profiteering?

I don't like this one, sorry. I think it would be better to help people realise that facing hardships in order to achieve a dream isn't a guarantee of success. Rather, it's okay to fail and not everyone will succeed.

"moderating it will be more difficult". So does that mean it is allowed or not? If you "discourage spamming the same story over and over again", do you mean from the same person, or from everyone? So if ten different people posted the same story from different sources, is that allowed or not? The rules are not clear, and your further explanation still isn't clear to me.

I strongly feel that we should not use clickbait headlines.

Regarding Rule 6, this seems to say that the same story with a different source is okay. I don't think this should be the case. The same story regardless of source should not be reposted unless it adds new information.

She wasn't anywhere near as influential or impactful to music and other musicians as Nirvana, which is the main point of comparison in the article. Many other musicians and singers have come and gone (male and female) and are not held in anywhere near the range reverence as Cobain, and that's simply because they had no lasting impact.
