But notably the EU companies (e.g. Audi, Mercedes, BMW), while they have poor privacy scores from Mozilla, were not actively selling your data to brokers to hike your insurance rates. So there’s that.

It took 2 years and an expansion before it was no longer “early access,” and as soon as it was actually good, they announced there would be no more updates.

How did this happen in the first place, and why aren’t heads rolling? This was a shockingly bad decision that caused massive damage to their brand for a comparatively small amount of money. Even if they roll this back, I just don’t trust them anymore.

Overwatch 2 was a train wreck from day 1. I hope Blizzard has a come-to-Jesus moment where they start focusing on the actual games, players, and fun instead of how to maximize battle pass sales.

Car companies are directly sending this data to the brokers in exchange for “low millions of dollars.” Imagine destroying all consumer trust in a multi-billion dollar brand for so little. I would never even consider buying a GM or any brand involved in this.

I installed some broken Nvidia drivers and lost all video out. I rebooted the PC, selected the previous generation, and voila… working PC again. On Arch I’d be debugging it for hours.

The problem is the only alternative (on phones) is handing over all my data to Google, the world’s largest ad company. I’m not sure that’s better…

Desktop is easy. Install Linux. But on phones, there’s 2 bad realistic choices.

Codeberg only allows open source licensed code. If you’re working on non-free software you could self host Codeberg’s underlying software, or SourceHut is a different but other good option too.

Even though I disagree with Haley’s platform, I believe she’d leave office at the end of her term. I believe she’d accept the result of an election she’s lost. I believe that she’d behave with a level of decorum appropriate for the office.

So she’s immediately better than Trump simply by not being a fascist monster. Even if the dems lost to her, I wouldn’t have to worry about democracy suddenly ending or concentration camps for immigrants or nuking random countries and leaving NATO or her encouraging everyone to inject bleach and take horse de-worming pills, at least for 4 years.
