I wouldn't assume things about what they have or don't have at the border. They could also send your phone to a lab somewhere and return it to you after a few months with who knows what spyware installed, after which you can never trust it again. Just buy a cheap spare phone and leave your real one at home. There are some surprisingly good deals on qvc.com if you search for "tracfone". I might get one myself.

I had thought easy immigration to EU countries was only if you were coming from another EU country. I had been interested in Hungary for a while since I spent some time there and loved it and have friends there. But that was pre-Orbán and it wasn't part of EU then either. Dunno about now.

I know some people have gotten Nvidia stuff working, but from what I can tell, it's still iffy. Maybe you were lucky.

I'm not convinced there is any way to reliably wipe private stuff from a phone. You have to have a separate phone for travel purposes. Buy it new and never let anything really private onto it.

I believe the Nvidia driver situation still sucks and maybe always will due to Nvidia incalcitrance. You could try pulling out that 3060 board. Next, what motherboard are you using? That might also have compatibility issues. Other than that, dual booting has sometimes been a pain, but if the system is coming up you've gotten past that. Your system is pretty powerful and should work well.

Yes don't bring a phone with anything really private on it. Fixing the country is obviously preferable but sometimes you want a practical stopgap.

Dedi will perform a lot better and be more consistent and reliable. They're not THAT expensive if you're making nontrivial use of them. Otherwise maybe you can keep moving around between Contabo products. Keep in mind too that hdd performance will seem a lot better when you're not sharing it with dozens of other users. I have an HDD server and it's fine for browsing. Might not be great for large seek-intensive databases but I'm not currently doing that

Get a Hetzner dedicated server. Don't mess with vps once it gets that large. Look on hetzner.com/sb for auction servers that might be better deals than regular ones. And does your 800gb of storage really have to be all SSD? Hard disks still exist and cost lots less.

I use Debian on an old Thinkpad and (mostly) don't have such issues. Installs and upgrades in particular work fine. I had probs with the wifi driver on my x220 but it works fine on the similar t520. Framework might be trying to do too much.

Looking at your past posts you might have mental health issue like depression. You could see a psychiatrist about that maybe. Re COVID, maybe look at r/longcovid on Reddit and see if your symptoms compare. I hope things clear up for you.
