As a tangent, for me the entire utility for this stuff is cloud integration and alerts. Otherwise the only use of the camera is sending your insurance company videos of the break-in. This is one of those places where I am willing to give up a bit of privacy in a controlled way for the ability to get alerts in real time in case I need to call emergency services while away from home. Or tell my wife the delivery driver left the gate open and to close it so the dog doesn't get out.
To be honest, if you have a good security framework to begin with, there's no reason why a ring camera is super dangerous.
On the other hand, I'd wager that any given person who uses Linux daily at work is far more likely to own a stake in their company than the average worker.

It isn't a hard and fast rule though. If someone says or implies they don't want to fuck when sober, and you both get drunk and fuck, that's probably not great. Likewise, someone taking advantage of a body mass asymmetry to remain relatively more sober while consuming the same amount of alcohol is definitely still rape.
Basically, if only one person is drunk, there is a strong presumption of assault. If both people are drunk, there is no such presumption, and you'd generally defer to the nature of their relationship outsode of the drinking. So two complete strangers getting sloshed and fucking is typically safe. Two otherwise platonic friends doing the same thing is more of a grey area and you better be sure you are not misreading the situation. You getting drunk with a friend in the hopes they will make a poor decision they wouldn't make while sober is rape.
The statistical maintenance costs for cars just go up over time, with some pretty big bumps generally every 60k miles or so you put on the car. There are just a ton of straight up wear components on ICEVs from spark plugs to belts to fluids, clutches, seals... if you get unlucky, you end up with a good chance of a semi-major repair or maintenance item every year. You pretty much can't. You'd need to run for 6-8 hours per day to burn 8000 calories. For most people who are not professional athletes, that's impossible between work and sleep. To get much beyond 1000 cal/hr output, you need to get into the anaerobic region, which will exhaust you long before you can burn 8000 calories.
That does kind of imply it could need a recharge. These cheaper units don't actually have active monitoring for ice buildup - they just do it on a schedule based on temperature (and sometimes humidity). If you are getting ice buildup, it's either outside the rated performance envelope, or it is not functioning as intended.
A lot of people also don't understand that a heat pump is still heating your home, even though the air it blows might be a bit lower than your body temperature, so it feels "cool." When that happens people assume it has stopped working and switch to aux heat. This is one of the major reasons people insist that heat pumps don't work in the cold, even though they still have plenty of capacity margin to heat the dwelling.
My old system was actually set up so that it would pulse the electric aux heater every few minutes or so to help prevent this "drafty" feeling, and to extend the time between defrost cycles.
I don't know that we really needed a study for this. You can find the COP vs temp vs capacity curves for every heat pump out there. This will tell you exactly how many BTUs of heat the pump will produce given a watt of electricity input. I guess they were just validating that the curves were accurate?
