  • This is F1 only back markers get actual penalty...watch Red Bull (or merc/Ferrari any top 3) breaches == Occon 30 second penalty Mag required front wing change at every pitstop...probably one for Alonso but he will successfully challenge it....

  • If Red Bull breached again...that will hopefully be one nasty penalty or Toto himself might try enforcing one....

I will laugh so hard if it's Merc...but somehow I doubt it considering merc corporate would never approve of this...

I wonder if some of other lower end teams messed up as they finally got enough cash to breach the cap....

My vote is on Red Bull, Ferrari, and Alpine...

  • The fact that fia, did not issue some strong penalties and still does not really penalize front runners for crap moves is a huge mistake...they need to be consistent across the grid...not just penalize the back markers to set examples, that front runners ignore....Max seems to have a mind set of, if it's not penalized then why should I not do it to get an advantage even it it's wrong... While fia seems to believe that front runners will hold to a gentleman/ladies agreement, which most of them seem to do ( Lecrec, Perez etc race relatively clean at the moment), but obviously there will always those that break it, either regularly or under pressure...

  • Man. I really want to like max, but sportsmanship and respect is something he does not seem to have. The way he races and responds on track when being pushed gets real ugly, even though he has the skill and ability to not make it ugly....ugh.

  • Not really sure I understand why this change is bad...i mean current setup is not much better, everyone just runs softs, unless it's wet. Before these changes at least tire choice impacted the race as teams in Q3 had to use same tire in race as they used in qualiy. This change is gonna screw with teams that don't do well on hards (cough merc cough).. Not sure it will hurt slower team's but probably. Anyone has data on time deltas by tire type for some teams? Is the delta larger with certain tires?

  • This is why they should be hard on him. They have an advantage but for how long. Although it seems they are focusing on next year already (did Red Bull bring any upgrades to the car this year, I feel like there was only one), this still can become tight if there are a couple of DNFs for Max/Checo and others bring upgrades that close the gap significantly...especially if Checo does not return to his prior form and keeps getting knocked out q2/q3 and not finishing in top 3.

  • There was an earlier article where horner implied that Danny had poor performance and strange habits on sim at first but made it sound like he was improving? Guess that was true, no way if he was terrible in sim they would waste time with him in AT... But I don't expect much from Danny...we shall see if his spark is back and it was just the old mclaren.

  • I was expecting them to be stronger but the car seems to be worse then the merc in race pace, okay in quali, so any strategy mistake amplifies poor performance. Doesn't help that the merc, aston and now mclaran seem to be on point and take advantage of any mistake of their rivals...

  • Agreed. I tho k if he showed significant promise they would have implied as much but it seems his form dropped enough where they don't think it's worth it. I wonder if RB would help him get a drive in another team, would let rb see how he does with minimal risk an dhav him in back pocket for second driver...
