One would think, that if these sites and anywhere that applies Captcha at all, that if there were puzzles to solve to tell the difference between Bot or Human. That a human would have a likely chance to mess it up, whereas a Bot or AI are designed to do things flawlessly.
I bet the creator of Captcha didn't have the thought process to think about that.
Todd bought Fallout because Fallout was only just seen as a way to make merch out of. Yes, let's have vault boy on everything, let's have nuka-cola replicas, let's have bottle cap replicas .etc
But nothing about whether or not the games are even worth a toss to play. There's people who still to this day, favor FO 1, 2 and New Vegas. They were made with a level of charm and care that got YOU to where you are today. FO 3, 4 and 76 all feel like just empty open worlds with recycled material, it's running in place with no forward progression.
The OG creator of FO may be a humble guy, but the series still deserve better.
That's the same method politicians have done to get controversial bills passed. Because they know they can't pass something like "ANNEX AMERICAN PRIVACY ACT" right there out in the open. It'll get shot down. Political suicide just to get it on the docket.
But if they do just enough bills that pass to make people think things are going okay, when we least expect it, they'll lump it in the next big budget bill and it'll become law. Then we'll all go "Huh, wha?" before we know it.
Curious, I checked out Chris Dodd and wonder what he's up to. He's a close advisor now to Biden so I'd imagine he's whispering in Biden's ear and whoever will listen, about how much of piracy is 'bad for ya'. In case anyone forgot, Chris Dodd was a major asshole during his 6 year stint (2011 - 2017) with MPAA and he ultimately failed in stopping piracy.
I don't think this latest tactic will work. Congress couldn't even understand Facebook and they couldn't even hold Mark Zuckerberg of all people, accountable for his shit. Congress, MPAA and all the forces in the world couldn't stop Kim Dotcom. MPAA, ACE and whatever, still cannot shut down The Pirate Bay.
They'll just keep bashing their heads on the brick wall. The only victories they've gotten in all of the 20+ year decade war on piracy, is that most times, the sites go down because of lack of funding and support. They only take down big sites because they've found weak links or they've found those run-a-mouth pirates who've gotta go around talking shit about pirating to the point where they're a liability then wonder why their favorite service/site is shut down.
The only thing stopping this piece of shit now is death. He'll never see jail. He'll never stop trying to achieve his ultimate dictating fantasies. People can sound tough to him all they like but the fucker seems to slime his way through somehow.
And the media is too dumb and careless that the reason he's even getting somewhat stronger in some fields is cause they keep feeding attention.
No disrespect to Toriyama-san, but this was Dragonball Z to a tee.
"THIS ENEMY IS THE STRONGEST EVER! GOKU ACHIEVES HIS STRONGEST FORM!"
"NO! WAIT! THIS ENEMY OUT OF NO WHERE IS SUDDENLY THE STRONGEST AND GOKU'S FORM IS 1,000X STRONGER!"
Shounen anime is just junkfood anime, like Bleach. It's got lots of filler, the main guy gets a hundred forms, all stronger than the last, they'll pull some bullshit out of their ass to win the day and give people lots of 'GOTCHA' moments. And a lot of the characters are rule-34 prone.
Instead of focusing on its users and the value of self-governance by volunteers, Reddit has agreed to hand over content they've generated to Google to train its AI models, in efforts that are now being investigated by the Federal Trade Commission.
Reddit users should now stop questioning themselves about who's more important than whom.
It's anybody's guess as to where Reddit's IPO will go. Its opening price at $34 a share is the top of the anticipated range, indicating that investors are excited. Following its debut, Reddit shares jumped as much as 70 percent, confirming this suspicion.
I must've not really looked, but this is quite the confirmation that Reddit finally pulled the trigger. The enshittification is due to come but we'll see it in time if it isn't here yet.
Reddit is dead. But is it truly spez's fault entirely? I reckon to margin that he is 90% of Reddit's problems. The other 10 is the users, because as we know, they complain more than do more.
I loathe that platforms treat themselves this way. We see this happen over and over again when a newcomer comes into the field to shake things up. They become, eventually, the best alternative. They eventually become the only thing.
And all that they turn out to be, are just portfolio fluffing projects to be made into an IPO. Then the enshittification and oh, there is next to no where to go.
