They are probably referring to the regulations and tax code at that time. America had (at one point) a 93% effective tax rate on the richest people. That is now less than 20% (if I recall correctly). Regulations also were less in favor of corporations and more in favor of people. That has flipped.
Why in the world are you allowed to take out credit cards for so little information? In the US you _must _ give a social security number and then a credit check is done. It happens all at the register and can take a few minutes. You donโt just get automatically approved.
That has nothing to do with dna databases. I understand mormans did a ton of ancestry research, but none of those sources say anything about using DNA genome sequencing to accomplish what youโre talking about.
It was a csrf issue. The vulnerability isnโt on the attackers side, itโs on the userโs side. Iโm telling you this as the owner of the instance. Iโm sorry, but you are wrong here.
I had been considering Athena, but it's quite a leap I thought. @fubo@lemmy.world said Hephaestus is the god of automation and I think that's pretty dope. Of course, Athena is pretty good too. That's the name of one of my cats!
hm. that's very strange... you shouldn't be getting those errors. we haven't had any downtime longer than a few minutes. One thing that does seem to be happening is that moderator actions on 'big items' like banning a user, or removing all their posts seems to completely lock up the lemmy instance. It pegs the CPU at 100% and prevents all backend operations. No clue why. But I haven't heard about this 'no posts' or errors like you are talking about. Can you send us a picture either here or in one of the other communication mediums (discord, matrix, mastodon) when you get an error again?
Definitely. Iโm pretty sure they modified the code to look as bad as possible just to take the photo though. You can clearly see all the lines are marked as modified in the gutter.
