That all sounds very German, lol. I'm mostly just speaking from my America-centric perspective. It would be nice to have reduced road traffic here and make riding more fun, but a lot of the people that support public transit typically hate motorcycles just as much as they hate cars so I feel like I have to oppose them even though I don't own a car myself.

YouTube videos feel agonizingly slow without being sped up.

I feel like I'm not on either internet because I have no idea about anything they are talking about. XD But youtube, beehaw, and formerly reddit were as far as I go on social media.

Some games use it to determine who is player one vs player two. i.e. whoever presses the button first is treated as player 1.

I disagree, I have an account in both places and lemmy.world feels a lot more like reddit did than beehaw. I can hardly ever tolerate to use that account. And I left reddit because everyone was mean, not because of the API stuff.

I think downvotes make it too easy to avoid discussion, I'd prefer if someone has a problem with something, they actually speak up and say something. Then that response getting lots of upvotes is a much better indicator of what the community feels.

I use mine mostly to play older games that cant be alt tabbed easily. Playing through Morrowind with the OpenMW engine lately, for example. Also been doing a lot of Yakuza 0. I have a 64 GB SD card as well though. For the really big stuff I can stream from my gaming PC.

Any tips on breaking into that kind of industry? It is a dream of mine to be an embedded software developer but my skills are very hobby-level and I don't have a degree or anything.

My SO just upgraded to an iPhone and she keeps talking about how much better the voice directions from CarPlay with Maps are. Sitting outside a fitting room right now, she said "Now these are my kind of directions" on the way here.

Just let people enjoy what they like. Not everyone cares about the same things and that is okay. And I'm using a Pixel 3, before you start making accusations.

Is this relevant for people using media servers like plex or emby? Been a while since I had an iPhone but I remember there being at least a plex app. I'm curious since I plan to switch back to iPhone next phone.

I don't know what people don't understand about this. Lighting is way better than microUSB, the only other option at the time. I cant imagine how many accessories will be rendered useless or at least inconvenient to use after this change. Probably gonna be an ewaste disaster.

It doesn't really matter anyway, how many people really care about the port they have to plug their phone into at the end of the day as long as it works? I'll admit I used to care A LOT but I just don't anymore, bigger fish to fry and all.

I hate microUSB so much. I always feel like I have to treat microUSB ports like fine china or they will break on me. That nervous anticipation every time you plug something in that this will be the time it finally breaks. Too bad mini USB ports had that problem with getting loose over time.

Definitely a good idea to have both.

Yeah, I'm sure it is great for a situation like that. When I worked from home I'd use it pretty much all day while charging on a dock, like, 100% screen on time. It caused the battery to swell up and pop the back glass off though, so I don't do that anymore.
