On the bright side, I am rarely woken or kept awake by noise.
I almost wish I had tinnitus then because I'm woken up by any one of my four roommates opening and closing doors or the construction a block away that starts at 7am on the dot.
Any file hosting service, no matter what, will have to deal with CSAM as long as people are able to upload to it. No matter what. This is an inescapable fact of hosting and the internet in general.
Because CSAM is so ubiquitous and constant, one can only do so much to moderate any services, whether they're a large corporation are someone with a server in their closet. All of the larger platforms like 'meta', google, etc., mostly outsource that moderation to workers in developing countries so they don't have to also provide mental health counselling, but that's another story.
The reason they own their own hardware is because the hosting services can and will disable your account and take down your servers if there's even a whiff of CSAM. Since it's a constant threat, it's better to own your own hardware and host everything from your closet so you don't have to eat the downtime and wait for some poor bastard in Nigeria to look through your logs and reinstate your account (not sure how that works exactly though).
Or in this case; ACABAAM (All Cops Are Bastards And Absolute Morons).
Maybe this guy poses a threat to community members (or maybe not, unlikely though), and these dumb-asses decided to arrest him for drunk driving... even though there was a loaded high capacity handgun in the backseat, drugs in plain view and recorded evidence of the guy... fuck he basically handed himself to them on a silver platter and the dumb fucks decided to *bewilderingly checks notes again ...arrest him for drunk driving...
It's almost as if they're so used to fucking people over with bullshit charges they can't recognize a situation where they don't have to lie through their piggy teeth to fuck someone over.
The worst that can happen is the felt falls apart where there are signs of mould and the hat is now two useless pieces or maybe there's just a bunch of tears above the sweat. The main concern is not the type of hat, but how old it is and mostly how much damage the mould has done.
I imagine (as in I'm not sure) that if you try to do it yourself you might tear it around the area where it looks like some dirt has soaked in and provided a foothold for mould to grow from. I suspect that area is very fragile rn.
Personally, given it's age, I would ask for advice from a museum on the best ways to clean and care for it and ask them if it's possible for it to be reshaped to fit you.
Unfortunately, the current capitalist system in place for most of the world is incompatible with most people to varying degrees. This leads to people not sleeping as much as they should, which makes people stupid and behave like dicks.
