  • Well of course that piece of shit wants to give them a platform.

  • Ever heard of Poe's Law?

It isn't a story that the Jedi would tell you.

  • Yes, because it would open up into the wall.

I would also notice it even if it didn't because I am a creature of habit and changes like that are obvious.

  • There a lot of non AI implementations that would be more reliably logical, like presenting options in multiple groups instead of only having a single location buried in submenus.

Like mouse color and size could be in an appearence AND in a general mouse settings that includes mouse appearance and behavior. They could design it so the setting itself is self contained, so it can behave the same way no matter how it is grouped for presentation.

I would expect AI to make up illogical groupings, because it doesn't understand context.

  • It is like Overwatch and Leaguen of Legends/Heroes of the Storm had a baby.

    It is a FPS MOBA.

  • I love how in settings all the different miuse options are spread out in different places!

Want to change mouse speed, cursor size, and color? We are going on an adventure!

  • While that is a great summary of reaching a profit, breaking even or a small amount of profit is rarely considered a success especially if that is the criteria for sequels/continuations/similar products.

So a one off single comic that has zero expectations might be a success if it makes a small profit, but as a test to see if it should become a series a significant amount of profit would be needed.

  • Back around 2010 or so, I discovered that if you had a physical PC game that was also in Steam’s store, you could type in the serial number on the game box and it would register and add it to your Steam library.

There were a few older games I owned that had trouble with running well on newer hardware because of the messy manual updates. Did the seriel bumber i to steam and it installed and updated to a smooth running version on steam at no cost.

Yes, this tied the hard copy to the steam account so there was a loss of reselling unless they changed that at some point. But I never bothered with selling used games and these were old enough that nobody wanted them anyway so I got some free use out of something I was almost ready to throw out.

  • I think almost everyone is on board with ai as a tool used by people.

The pushback is against ai being used in a way that is mostly or fully automated withoit human confirmation. Or when ai is used to justify terrible practices by shifting the blame from the people doing those things, like blaming ai for denying medical care when humans were doing that already.

  • And that if we want to win over those who aren’t yet ready to support our candidates, we need to listen to their concerns and maybe learn something in the process. "

This take the high road attitude can fuck right off when the other side's concerns are irrational racist hatemongering bullshit.

  • English is pure anarchy.

  • I think it is a great example of expectations.

The hotdog and sandwich thing is silly because tacos are commonly thought of as a Mexican/Hispanic food and hot dogs are a US thing. Like how a chicken wrap and a chicken soft taco are different things even though both can have the same tortilla and chicken, with different vegetables and spices/flavorings. Chicken wraps are often cold, but can be served warm without becoming a taco!

It is a convoluted, arbitrary mess that only works because most people just go with the flow and don't really think about things beyond the surface level.

  • Use impacted only for when physical bodies collide.

Like when referring to impacted bowels!

  • Nobody calls papperoni sausage when it is on pizza though. That is consistent with your example that a sausage is generally called a sausage only if it has not been sliced.

    Except for summer sausage.

Honestly the biggest takeway from the whole discussion is that what we call food is completely arbitrary and just people going along with what the most vocal people are saying. Which is true about any informal communication.

  • All the following wives? That is so sweet!

  • They are a tie for me, because I think of them as salty fish eggs.

A sushi place had an egg roll (sushi, not egg rolls) and I thought it was the little fish eggs thing but was actually scrambled egg in a rectangle. My disappointment was immense.

  • Are there ways to say exactly this kind of happy?

    Festive.
