  • No citizen lose the right to vote, ever, for any reason other than no longer being a citizen.

  • Jewish steudents reported being harrassed, which probabky happened because there are always some jackasses in any large protest. But most of the complaints I noticed in news articles were the Jewish students equating criticism of Israel and Jewish people.

Yeah, that could come from a lifetime of experience with people equating the two, but it also means any valid criticism of Israel is going to feel like a personal attack to them too. Criticism of an active genocide is more important than verbal antisemitism on college campuse.

  • I just watched it this weekend and it was far better than I expected.

  • Michael V Drake, the president of the 10-campus university system, said in a statement on Monday that the UC was taking steps to “ensure a safe, inclusive campus climate that fosters a free exchange of ideas”.

"Except for ideas that involve criticising Israel for genocide. All the other ideas are fine though."

  • Nope. Voter registration is the closest we get to an up to date system that varifies residency and only for the purposes of voting.

  • Are there any cats in the wild that are vegan?

No, because they must have meat to survive due to being obligate carnivores. This is different than dogs, which are omnivores.

  • The base concept of saying where you live in a highly mobile society makes sense for knowing how many ballots and staff to prepare, especially when there are so many local elected positions. It even helped with speeding up voting when all you needed to do was sign off when voting instead of all this ID bullshit.

    Republicans weaponized a functioning system.

  • If that was true conservatives wouldn't be trying to speedrun the running longstanding public programs into the ground or overturning decades of precedent.

They don't mean the same thing.

  • I live in a hard red state, but thanks for trying.

  • So you vote for the more competent Republican who will still be voting for all of that party's terrible policies, but will also be making them look less incompetent.

That isn't whe win you think it is.

  • What non-standard Republican candidate did you pick over Trump in the primaries?

  • Yes, but they also had like a dozen Benghazi investigations that never uncovered anything becsuse being wrong has any bearing on Republican actions. They know it is bullshit, but think it will rile up their base.

  • Republicans used impeachment as a weapon in the 90s against Clinton, so they are just confirming they will continue.

  • Do you have to pay for your ID, and are there any barriers to getting one?

Republicans love to make it hard for poor minorities to have indentification. Hell, I am above the median age but we have to shuffle utilities around between the adults in the home just to renew our fucking driver's licenses here because of bullshit 'proof of address' requirements.

  • You can get the same result by being unaffiliated but without the stain of being a registered republican.

  • Thanks a lot for Trump you jerk.

Edit: guess everyone forgot that in 2016 Trump was the non-typical Republican candidate that the left thought was going to fail in the general election.
