  • How can water rights be purchased when most of the western states follow prior appropriation? If this introduces riparian laws to the western US that seems like a terrible idea, in addition to the terrible idea of trading in water futures.

  • Yeah, I’ve seen most of them, but Mike and Avery were my favorite by a long shot. I also enjoyed the show Fastest Car where they race one super car vs several sleepers out in the desert. I’m not even really a car-person, but I sure get sucked into modding and restoration tv. Rust to riches was my entry point!

  • My partner and I always joke about the old vs “old”! In the UK version it’s like “this dates to the late 17th century” and America is like “this has been in the family for a long time, my great grandfather bought it in 1981.” I have a huge preference for the presenters in the UK version as well. Glass guy, the one guy who looks like an austin powers character, snotty furniture man.

  • No worries man, I had just seen it before and recognized the context. I didn’t lose my sense of smell when I had covid either, but everything tasted awful. And idk if it’s related but now I get whiffs of random smells that are unlikely to be present and other people say they don’t smell, like gravel and metal. So weird.

  • Apparently there’s a whole glitch in the matrix deal around this, because other people remember seeing them too (I saw a post on reddit) and I wasn’t born much before the 90s. I definitely remember Virginia slim commercials like back to back with RC cola ads during the daytime. I wonder if it was maybe from recorded vhs tapes or something because I can legit picture seeing these ads on tv in my childhood home.
