Apologies if I'm coming off too grumpy, I've just seen a hundred similar comments over the last 24 hours from people outraged that a company known for unfriendly practices in an industry full of other companies known for unfriendly business practices have continued doing the same unfriendly business practices that are already happening everywhere.
Fair point, but I still can't imagine they'll be double that price for long. The only GBP price I've seen for a Switch 2 game is the MKW bundle which is only £30 more than the console on its own.
Aren't consoles and their new game always ridiculously expensive on launch? I know Nintendo stuff often doesn't drop in price that much but I'd be surprised if they stay this expensive for long. Plenty of other games to play in the meantime!
Most TVs on the market today come with a technology called automatic content recognition (ACR) built in. This is basically Shazam for TV — Shazam itself helped popularize the tech — and gives smart TV platforms the ability to monitor what you’re watching by either taking screenshots or capturing audio snippets while you’re watching.
The author then just gives up and says "maybe targeted adverts aren't so bad", concluding that the only way to avoid them is to buy an older TV. Fuck that! Either never connect it to the internet and plug in a more trusted devices, or go for a deep dive down the pihole.
Nothing excusable about it, you just shouldn't be surprised that big greedy corp wants to maximise profits, and that an open system can run more games than a locked down console
What does this mean? What is "google play system", is it different to "google play services"? Doesn't that update itself? Are you describing something that's specific to a particular device, ROM, or android version? Fancy giving us any more info at all?
Same in Summit. I guess there needs to be a standard that everyone follows, because currently I have a client which automatically handles normal other-instance links, and these link helpers actively break it!
Fair to not like that, I just assumed it was a deliberate part of the "this game is very hard" design
