  • It’s not too broad imo, there’s just a lot of different types. So saying “AI is a scam” is incorrect, because there are types of AI that are enterprise level, and are being used currently by all the largest companies in the world to save time and money - like Machine Translation

So when I hear someone say it’s a scam, it just tells me they aren’t very familiar with AI, and only have experience with it in very limited forms and settings

  • These types of things are exactly what Generative AI models are good for, as much as Internet people don’t want to hear it.

Things that are massively repeatable based off previous versions (like legislation, contracts, etc) are pretty much perfect for it. These are just tools for already competent people. So in theory you have GenAI crank out the boring stuff and have an expert “fill in the blanks” so to speak

  • There needs to be laws passed that change the structure of “fiduciaries”

Companies should exist for their employees first, customers second, and then shareholders, in that order. Pay the people creating the product/service as much as possible, put out the best possible product/service at the most competitive rate possible, and if there’s anything left over the shareholders get their cut.

Ironically, if corporations actually did this, they’d likely have plenty of success. It’s just mind boggling that the lazy fuckers pushing numbers around on a computer screen are the ones considered fiduciaries

  • I don't have much time to continue this conversation with you (and I'll ignore the attempts at belittling my stance), but I will just add that Liberalism, Idealism, etc are really only relevant when the other side(s) are also abiding by those norms. As soon as one side pursues Realist actions (like Bibi, Hamas, or Putin), then the only response is to match their force.

    Also:

realism underscores the competitive and conflictual nature of global politics

realism asserts that the dynamics of the international arena revolve around states actively advancing national interests and prioritizing security

realism argues that states operate in a realm devoid of inherent justice, where ethical norms may not apply

each of the parties choose to protect their own self-interests at the expense of the other participant

This illustrates how a realist state might interact with another state; whether to protect its own resources or risk everything to achieve its goals

Just to try to clarify my reasoning on even bringing this up - I'm not trying to justify individual soldiers' actions in a specific conflict. I'm trying to make it clear that in state vs. state conflicts, what you would typically consider to be norms go out the window as each will prioritize their security and power. Thus, when one that is weaker attacks another that is stronger, you should expect an overwhelming response

  • Because it’s those less than intelligent leftists who are saying they won’t vote in this election. I expect the right wing to show up and get behind their guy. I’m disappointed that the left seems to be willing to hand them this election
