  • There are a few random internet people who just live in my head for no reason. Back in like 2016 there was a guy on reddit who would sign all his posts with: Latinos for Trump. I was like: all right, this is the most blatant russian AstroTurf i have ever seen. And i did for the first time ever look through his comment history. Mainly to feel smart, there was nothing I could do with that information. I went back so far, and it was apparently just an average, seemingly nice latino dude who was super into trump. And i never really figured it out why.

  • They are so much worse. I worked with a guy who was pretty damn cheap. I would sometimes pay for his coffe or lunch sometimes, but he would never even drop a cent for me. I didn't really care much, cheap guy, maybe poor, i had no idea. I talked to another guy about video games, and the cheapskate chimed in, saying: i would never play video games, it's a waste if time and money. I didn't think much of it, it made so much sense.

Another time the same co worker said something like: "the most he ever spend on a game was 60 dollars for a counterstrike skin". Cheapskate chimed in again, (he was also a bit of a one upper) hah, that's nothing, i spend 900 bucks on clash of clans last month.

We both were absolutely flabbergasted, and he started to panic a bit abd said: "you think that's crazy? My girlfriend spends way more on candy crush a month." It's been a while, but i think we calculated that the spend a combined 2000 to 3000 bucks on mobile games a month, for years.

  • I know a guy who did, still does and deals with every drug imaginable. Really nice guy, honestly. But he refused to get vaccinated, he bought a fake covid certificate or some shit for like 1000 bucks or whatever, because he didn't want that unknown substance in his body

  • Pre pandemic i know one real life antivaxxer. Vut even then, kinda not really, he did vaccinate his kids, but he didn't like that he was forced too for school. Some real "don't tell me what to do, because i was gonna do it anyway" energy. To me antivaxxers were just the butt of online jokes.

Post pandemic, i could name so many antivaxxers, it's insane. And they all have the dumbest takes imaginable. And they always try to convince you, but i never thought for a second that this person might be onto something. The last guy who talked to me about it was a friend of my dad. I know him for a ling time, but not well at all. He said that the pandemic was all planned, but not enough people died, so they have another one coming, and that's why he's not getting vaccinated. Wait, the government tries to kill people, it didn't work as well as they thought, but they also try to vaccinate people so they don't die? Why do they try to kill people? And his aswer was basically: "many people believe that." Motherfucker, i know you, you hang out with 5 people who are 60 to 70 years old and they are all reclusive alcoholics. It doesn't really matter what they believe.

  • I once read an article about a football club who wanted to make pasta in their colours as merchandise. They weren't allowed to, because one of the colours were blue and through some regulations, blue is not a "natural" colour that can be achieved with beets for red or spinach for green for example. I thought: oh interesting. And just a bit later i saw that cursed sonic curry that they sell in the us.
