Yeah that sucks. I’ve been on the other end working with paramedics, nurses and docs and there are quite a few of those drug seekers. Like most things a few people have to ruin it for the rest.

Debatable but it really looks like he does it accidentally while scrambling off his opponent.

I consider a gurney or a mortuary the ground.

I know an eye for an eye and eventually we’re all blind, but I wish these people would have to deal with the pain they put on others.

I mistook this for abolishing the monarchy. THAT would have been wild.

When my kid did a play in middle school “The Little Mermaid” either there was an approved videographer or none were allowed, either way parents were told if they took cell phone footage the school would be sued.

I wonder if that kind of thing should fall under educational purposes?

Let me start by saying I appreciate this hasn’t devolved and does seem to be a civil discussion.

The idea is most citizens are law abiding and if it is illegal to conceal carry or barred by the establishment to carry then only three types of people would be a threat to someone who intends to cause violence. First a law enforcement officer, second another person intended to break the law with a weapon and last would be an individual with the attitude’rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6’. The possibility of those types being in the vicinity is much lower than when everyone can be capable of self defense with a firearm.

There are many more nuances involved: does the person carrying have training? Can the person carrying be more of a danger than the danger their presence prevents? Is the criminal logical/smart enough to know and understand that there is a risk of an armed populace when they enact their crimes? And many more variables that can be put into play that aren’t part of this discussion.

The deterrent is the uncertainty of who may and may not have a gun on them. A lot of self defense is making yourself a harder target, the knowledge that a firearm might come into play and the victim may be proficient at using it makes anyone and everyone a harder target. It doesn’t mean desperate criminals won’t still make a move, but it should decrease the number of crimes attempted.

All fights end up on the ground. Judo excels at getting them there faster and BJJ at ending it once horizontal.

Ever detail I hear about these makes them sound more and more like Tuscan Raiders on Tatooine.

More attacks and they’ll go from targeting to targeted.

Yeah, not sure if I answered your question in regards to what you were thinking about but this specific scenario the 6am start time worked better for many of those with families.

It’s like that for the most medical communities. Some nurses and docs spend a full week at the hospital. We were an air ambulance so the FAA limited us to 12 hour shifts but many ambulance, fire fighters etc. are 24-72 hour shifts.

Bigger fan of the Godzilla version.

I used to work EMS 12 hour shifts 6-6. At one point management decided to stagger base start times. Some 6-6, others 7-7 & 8-8. So when someone flips their car and flies out at 5:45 they don’t have to wait for all the available service to finish their shift change, when the 8-8 team has 2 hours left they can get to the patient and back to base without extending their duty day too far.

Many of the workers who went 8-8 hated it. They complained nonstop about how it ruined their whole day since day shift they are headed out the door before the fam eats breakfast and get home after dinner. Same for night shift, rush through dinner or miss dinner and breakfast with the family.

Personally I enjoyed the 7-7/8-8 shifts more but enough people bitched enough they changed all but 1 base back to 6-6.

This isn’t unique to AI, like most LLM programs it’s just accomplishing it faster and on a larger scale. Personally think if you want privacy you should limit the personal things you post to what you’re okay with being out there and form habits such as waiting until home from vacation to post pictures.
