Because they don't make money from mods and this was an obvious cash grab from the beginning. If Bethesda had any good ideas they'd be making a game out of them. They don't, so instead they're reselling you the same game they already sold you 19 years ago with a fresh coat of paint on it. A million people will buy it anyway because nostalgia, Bethesda gets their money, and whatever happens afterward is not their concern.
This is definitely untrue and the reason some games have 18,000 mods and some games have 0 is almost entirely down to developer cooperation.
Sometimes if a game is using an existing engine that is known to be moddable, you can get a community built off of some pre-existing knowledge and kind of strike out on your own to build a mod. In most cases if the devs didn't build the game with mod support in mind you're not getting any mods.
You don't, it's just a controller, shaped like a Steam Deck but without the screen. With the touch pads and everything. It can be normal controller sized since you don't need the screens and giant battery, and most of the processing. Maybe save a little flash memory in it to save control schemes right to the controller would be nice.
I fix cars at a big retail chain and yep. There's instant verification now where in order to accept it we have to punch all the info into some service on the POS computer to make sure the check clears, but if it does, yeah we take those. Money is money. Checks are still issued and cashed by banks so we still take em.
Yeah it feels like that's getting glossed over but that's a really fucking big deal.
For those unaware, habeas corpus (from Medieval Latin, lit. 'you should have the body', basically 'bring us this guy') is a legal procedure that exists in basically every legitimate government anywhere, not just American, which effectively states that if you've been wrongly imprisoned then your lawyer can call to have you moved from prison to a courtroom to determine whether your detainment is lawful. Basically saying you can't just be thrown in a dungeon to be forgotten about because someone can force the court to retrieve you and give you a court date. I'm not a legal expert so read it for yourself to get a good understanding.
At any rate, someone recommending suspending habeas corpus is never up to any good, it is always 100% bad without exception, always. Even saying those three words together should be instant political suicide and should be grounds for disbarment. Successfully suspending habeas corpus with your rubber stamp and signature should be subject to execution. Any judge who accepts that it is suspended is unfit for their position.
Nowadays? Yeah y'all missed the bus. The time to do something about this was several years ago, when Tesla's atrocious build quality was becoming publicly apparent and Musk was inserting himself into every news story in the worst ways possible.
"Pedo guy" comment in 2018 was the first major wake up call to most people who weren't paying attention.
Acquisition of Twitter in 2022, and the major fuckery involved with that, should have rung the bell for anyone left behind.
At either of those times you still could have sold a Tesla to a Maga chud and still come out on top. Now you're just stuck holding a bag. And my concern for said bag holders is relatively minor because people who really can't afford a car are still driving 20 year old Hondas and Toyotas and Buicks. If you bought a Tesla new (and yes, it was bought new, because a used market did not exist at the time) you have car money. Buy an $8k beater, used, like the rest of us do.
It started out as ha-ha-funny-number because my college roommates kept setting the thermostat there to be funny but then it just become a comfortable temperature to exist at
Disclaimer: not Christian, but I like to read about religions and their interpretations, I'm a huge slut for occult literature
I think that's a part of the message, actually. It's repeated a lot in the Bible that Man is fallible and can be expected to sin in ways great and small. Even "God's chosen people" are frequently tempted to sin and, indeed, fall to it. But there's still a path to heaven for them afterward if they can put their heart into it.
This prevents people from thinking "well I'm already a sinner so I best keep at it while I'm able to, since I'll never be given an eternal reward" and gives some hope of actual proper rehabilitation even to the worst people. Even rapists and murderers can have the opportunity to truly repent and live good lives if they want to. It won't wash away what you've done in the mortal world, but when you reach Heaven if your heart truly repents what you've done then you can be allowed inside. You can't fake that though. God and the angels can see right to the heart of your emotions. If you aren't serious about it you can and will be cast down instead.
Nah, a couple years ago he had a big section of one of his Netflix specials just bashing trans folks with unfunny jokes.
Just looked it up, the special in question is "The Closer" and yeah just look at this mess -
A little more than halfway into The Closer, Chappelle mentions writer J.K. Rowling, who in recent years was called out for her own transphobic remarks.
“They’ve canceled people that are more powerful than me,” Chappelle said in the new special. “They canceled J.K. Rowling, my god. J.K. Rowling wrote all the Harry Potter books by herself. She sold so many books, the bible worries about her. And they canceled her because she said in an interview—and this is not exactly what she said but effectually—she said gender was a fact. And then the trans community got mad as shit. They started calling her a TERF.”
Chappelle added that he didn’t know “what the fuck that was” initially, using the opportunity to mock the trans community.
“I didn’t event know what the fuck that was but I know that trans people make up words to win arguments, so I looked it up,” he said. “TERF is an acronym. It stands for trans-exclusionary radical feminists, and this is a real thing. This is a group of women that hate transgender, they don’t hate transgender women but they look at trans women the way we Blacks might look at blackface. It offends them. Like, ‘Ew, this bitch is doing an impression of me.’”
Chappelle then noted he “shouldn’t speak on this” because he’s not a woman, but continued anyway.
“I am a feminist, that’s right,” he said. “I’m team TERF. I agree, I agree man. Gender is a fact. You have to look at it from a woman’s perspective.”
Later, Chappelle claimed he wasn’t saying “trans women aren’t women” before immediately rolling into remarks that contradicted that claim.
“I am just saying that those pussies that they got, you know what I mean?” he said. “I’m not saying it’s not pussy but that’s like Beyond Pussy or Impossible Pussy, you know what I mean? It tastes like pussy but that’s not quite what it is. That’s not blood, that’s beet juice.”
So in the space of about 10 minutes we have transphobia, complaints of cancel culture, support of TERFs, support of JK Rowling, and a self admission that he "doesn't know what the fuck that is" but runs his mouth about it anyway.
When he (rightfully) got called out about this, the only thing he talked about for the next year afterward was how jazzed he was to be getting "canceled", as Netflix continued to bankroll more specials for him and suspended/fired trans employees who had complaints about this.
Dave Chappelle is a clown and not the good funny kind.
So you're telling me it's only a matter of time before Skum orders his pilots to go dark and cease broadcasting, and then they're going to hit a jet liner full of families trying to escape his corporate hell.
How come this is the first time we're hearing from her, then?
Bernie Sanders has been out on the trail since January, circling the country telling everyone that Trump is a dangerous criminal. Where was Murkowski at? Not there, that's for sure. Not running her own version of the same. She backed and approved every single Trump cabinet appointee except for Hegseth.
I don't think they do have a problem with them, they already keep electing them in staggering numbers. The two most common denominators of conservative elected officials are incompetence and child sexual assault.
