  • Is this new or just more common now? I was certain they've always been able to do this.

    Edit: Never mind

Agents with U.S. Border Patrol have long had the power to ask to search travellers' belongings, but the Canadian government updated its online guidance to include the extra warning this week — a change that comes as the nations' long-friendly relationship breaks down under the pressure of the Trump administration's war on trade.

  • Canadian here, it'd take a LOT more than 1 million USD for me to want to be the 51st state. I'd bet most people in Greenland feel similar.

  • Yeah, it's a lot more in CAD. Not sure I'm going to buy it anymore. The Direct was a bit of a disappointment to me.

  • The en-ca in the URL means nothing as I've bought from .ca websites and been charged in USD before. To be fair, it wasn't a large company like Nintendo but it still happened. Fastest cancel I've ever done. So, Unless it's explicitly called out next to the price or I've bought something from there before, I usually assume it's USD.

  • Looks like $629.99. Never sure if it's CAD or USD but my Nintendo account is Canadian.

  • Okay, so, You're going to need to pretend like I'm 5 years old here.

The end goal is for me to give this my email creds, it will then monitor my email and when I get a match it'll run the API call, right?

However, right now, you don't want to take usernames and passwords so you generate random emails as an example to show what it COULD do.

If I'm correct it might be a little early to give people access as there's nothing I can really do. I created an account on your site but there's nothing there explaining what I'm doing just a couple input boxes with a one word label.

I would use this for email -> matrix but I'd have to self host it. I'm sure others would use it if you had some built in API calls that less techy people could use.

Do you allow users to matched regex from the email and use it the API Call?

  • I will be doing exactly this if its ~$400 CAD or less. Otherwise I'll buy a used one and install a cheap modchip when that's an option

  • Permanently Deleted

  • This is insane, how is trump still in power?

  • I don't understand what you're doing here. I use your website to what?

Monitor my email and when I get one that matches the regex it'll make an API call?

Or is your website the API endpoint?

The video didn't help me understand.

  • No, you're whale cum.

BUT, I'm not sure how well it works.... While rutorrent says port forwarding is working, and It seems to be from my tests.... Checking randomly the only peers I see that connect to me also have ovpn IPs so I'm not sure if I'm actually accessible or not.

  • I selfhost everything I use, including the *arr stack. I do have a VPS with hetzner.com and they're pretty good but I wouldn't personally host torrent or *arr with them. If you want someone else to host I'd suggest doing the research and finding something that works for you. My only experience is 5+ years ago with dediseedbox.com so YMMV if you choose them. They do have a cheap-ish VPS.

I think Docker is the way to go either on a VPS or on your own box. If you like a webUI for it use https://www.portainer.io/.

If you do go with docker be very careful about what ports you expose, you can easily open up everything publicly so be sure to double check and bind almost everything to 127.0.0.1.

If you have any specific questions I'd be happy to help.

  • If you're paying for a seedbox you can either get a vps (Linux VM) and do it yourself or just pay for the rutorrent web interface. I use to use dediseedbox.com awhile ago and had no complaints. My suggestion is to just have whatever provider host it so you don't have to use docker or anything.

If you want to do it yourself, then docker is the way to go and you should probably get a VPN on top of that so your traffic is mixed with other people. A dedicated server or VPS means you get your own IP and it can be linked to you.

  • This is 100% my opinion too.

I'm annoyed that I supported them and got a lifetime account on sale. At the same time I'm happy that I can take my time testing and moving my family and friends over to something else.

  • "I deal with every country, indirectly or directly. One of the nastiest countries to deal with is Canada," Trump said.

I'll take that as a complement from you. Thanks!

  • Canadian IT worker.

I refuse to drink at work parties. Everyone else does and I get some peer pressure to drink but I don't care. Its normal to see people get super drunk and embarrass themselves which is why I don't even start.

Specifically at lunch, if I'm not driving and others are having a beer I will but only one. If I'm driving, it depends on how I'm feeling.

Working from home I've been known to have a beer or two on a Friday afternoon by my self.

When I left my last job we had a meeting at the end of the day with the guys I got along with and anyone they wanted to invite. There was about 15 people from different departments with their cameras on having a drink or smoking (pot) if they didn't drink as a goodbye. Was a nice goodbye. Lol

  • I host pingvin for people to send stuff to me. To send, usually I'll just move the file into a folder that exposed to Nginx with indexing and send that link. Otherwise I'll also just use my pingvin instance.
