  • There are cheaper miniature games out there. Gaslands is Mad Max/ Death Race inspired and you use standard toy cars to play. There's also Turnip28 that's pretty much post apocalyptic Napoleonic Wars. There are cheap Napoleon era miniatures people modify for it, but I've also seen some goofier builds, like using toys and actual vegetables. I will say I haven't really played either, but they are the two miniature games I often consider getting into.

  • Star Wars Memes @lemmy.world

I'm not short, I just have bad posture

  • While I'm sure it could be a great game, it'll never happen. WB just canceled a Wonder Woman game and shut down its developer. If they don't have faith on a game based on one of their most well known characters, there's no way they'd even green light a game based on a lower tier hero. A detective game based on the Question would be great too, but since he's not one of DC's top heroes it'll never happen.

  • My Instagram feed has gotten more left since Trump took office again, but I have also started following more political and activist accounts. I noticed as I was leaving Facebook the less I interacted with things the more insane posts the algorithm would show me. It could be if Meta doesn't know what you want to see it just shows you the worst hoping you engage somehow.

  • If just want to here random people's stories Beautiful /Anonymous is really good. Each episode the host, Chris Gethard, takes a phone call from a stranger and they talk for an hour about whatever the caller wants. Some episodes are light and goofy while others can get pretty dark. It's definitely one of my favorite podcasts.

  • I don't use categories, but I do keep a tab open with this loaded with my Steam ID. It uses all the tags games have on Steam so you can see if you have a 2D Sci-Fi Souls-like if you want.

  • I want a city builder with a Civ-like timeline. You start off building huts and farms and keep on going until you get space elevators and fusion power. I want to see roads go from footpaths to trails for horse drawn carriages to full on highways. I also like the idea that you could choose your starting period so it could be used as a standard city builder too.

  • Ticket to Ride. Building out your rail network is so satisfying.

  • Usually when a sport needs music the athlete or team plan a routine around a song. Some might choose a song that's well known in their country but not universally known. If it's a folk song it might come off as royalty free.

With the breakdancing they had live DJs cutting songs together and the dancers had to adlib their routines. According to this article the Olympics licensed around 400 songs for the DJs to use. Since each battle used multiple songs you're going to hear more tracks that you know and forget about the ones you don't.

  • As far as I know Clone Hero and YARG are the best options going now. They both support guitar/ bass, drums, and keyboard, although only YARG has vocals.

YARG is still in development but I haven't had any problems with it. There's also support to download venues, though I haven't messed with it so I don't know how well they work yet. I'm also guessing there will eventually be support for characters at some point, but I haven't hear anything officially. They also release on Linux.

Clone Hero has a full release and the developers are still active. As far as I know there's no venue support, although some people set the songs' music videos to play in the background. It also looks like they only release on Windows.

Both of them come with a handful of songs, though you can download a ton more. They use the same files so you can have both pull from the same library if you want. I can't remember where I found the links anymore, but I have the tracks for all of the Rock Band and Guitar Hero games that had a full band, plus other random songs I got from https://rhythmverse.co/ and https://www.enchor.us/ The songs for the Guitar Hero games that were just guitar and bass are out there too if you don't care about drums, keyboards, or vocals.

  • As someone using Windows who decided to check out Visual Pinball after reading your post, I'll agree it's pretty fiddly. It seems like if you have the patients/ focus to get everything set up it's really good, but if you just want to download and play something you'll probably want to go with something else.

  • Does that mean he'll be the first person to be officially #blessed?

  • Any time someone tells you they have an easy trick for some life changing ability ask yourself why everyone doesn't know about it already. Probably because it doesn't do squat.
