  • I still am baffled at how some people like this become so massively famous. They're not interesting, they don't do anything interesting, and somehow they get famous for 'being famous'. Every time I see Cenat streaming on Twitch it's something incredibly boring and stupid and yet 70,000 people are watching. What the actual fuck?

  • It's even worse than it sounds: according to the article, she didn't have an unnatural hair color, a supervisor said she had 'blond' in her braids, but her hair wasn't even artificially colored and she didn't have blond in her hair.

  • I really enjoyed the video, although I didn't make the same leap in logic that the reason Bosworth spent so much on his tombstone was simply that he 'didn't realize how much his estate was worth'.

If he spent one-sixth of his entire estate on a tombstone, and with it being so much research just to find out the details of that, we don't know what his will did with the rest - he could have spent it all in equally eccentric ways just to piss everyone off, which apparently he was already quite good at while he was alive.

  • I remember about a year ago I mentioned on Reddit that Teams was not only a security risk, but the bundling alone would get them in hot water with the EU. Microsoft astroturfers came out en masse to claim I had no idea how vanilla Teams was.

And here we are. Microsoft always tries to build competitive advantages that break the law and then use them, and yet people still think they would never use the things they actively build and deploy.

    Naive.

  • If Elon bought it just to sink it, he would have just bought it, then shut it down.

He's trying to build his 'financial superstore' idea from 20 years ago and it will be disastrous in a way that hasn't even been seen yet.

Wait until this idiot starts implementing money transactions in Twitter and thousands of users suddenly have their bank accounts drained or worse.

It's only a matter of time before something so bad happens that all the nonsense that he's already done will be a footnote to the really big story.

  • I've developed web software for 25 years, on Linux, Windows and Mac and there is no difference other than what you are personally comfortable with.

If a dev told me it was 'easier' to develop web on a Mac, I'd know they were inexperienced or just wanted a company paid Mac.

  • He's wrong about several points. He states that Apple dominates the mobile space, but it's not even close. Android owns almost 71% of the market while Apple has about 29%.

Windows is definitely positioned to be replaced in the enterprise, but it would much more likely be Linux than MacOS. Many enterprises already run Linux and/or Windows servers and with the only thing keeping most desktops on Windows is Office...which Microsoft has been pushing to the web, although unsuccessfully.

I have heard about the death of Windows in corporations for 20+ years. Windows 11 is garbage, but I'm not sure it's enough to get companies to switch.

MacOS only is used in some Silicon Valley companies, but that's a bubble. You'd be hard pressed to find it used in the rest of the business world anywhere.

  • So, 25% of 19% of the US population.
Or, just over 15M people out of 332M are saying this.
Or, to put it another way: 317M people are not saying this.
Or to put it another way: VOTE IN EVERY ELECTION, EVERY TIME IF YOU WANT THE WORLD TO GET BETTER

Edit: because it was pointed out I wrote B instead of M. - Thanks!
