In practice, what I've seen people do is to use large crowds. I haven't yet seen any overt use of guns for that kind of defense.

That's remarkably hard to do in any kind of reliable way. ICE snatches are fast, and the odds of being there with a gun and recognizing what's going on are low. The odds of shooting somebody by mistake are high.

Building the level of support that would be necessary to win a revolution likely makes nonviolent paths such as impeachment possible.

The guns are to prevent violent suppression of that public support. Not as a first choice.

Because once outside the US, the Republican position is that they no longer have recourse to the courts. So you can hustle somebody to El Salvador really fast, and then there is nothing they can do about it.

Whereas if you put people through the usual trial process and keep them in a US prison, they can later be freed as innocent.

Actually they're spread across the US, Canada, and Mexico, with parts crossing borders many times during the course of manufacture. All this does is make the whole system in North America non-viable. If we removed him by force with only something like 1.5% of the population on board, we'd have kicked off a civil war we could not win. Right now, it's more important to use protest as an outreach tool to get more of the population to support change.
