  • It's really not a weird comparison. The deep irony of the situation - that the group that was most famously a victim of the Nazi Holocaust is responsible for perpetuating comparable modern day atrocities - make it almost unavoidable

  • I wrote out a whole massive reply that ended with 'and there's no real reason to break this...' and then I thought... But really? Actually there are so many form factors in which you can view Lemmy that 'pre-rendering' the line breaks makes basically no sense, and I can't think of many tools or typing habits that would otherwise introduce them

  • saying some places have a lot is like saying arsenic is fine because chile has high concentrations.

It's not though, is it. It's more like saying 'there are safe levels of arsenic'. Which there are.

The Pampas actually is known for their wines and they have massive arsenic.

Sooo this is an interesting fact, but I would assume that arsenic was present in the wine in organic form and therefore not really an issue. I'm not really sure what the point being made here is anyway...

  • What that fuck? I was just having a piss and I fucking read your comment and - it didn't, but - what if my snort of laughter when I did had caused my fucking urine stream to shoot back and to the left and fucking soaked my spare toilet rolls? Did you fucking think about that when ou posted? FFS.

  • If you don't add chlorine to your water supply, it has a tendency to harbour some much worse stuff. Like cholera. And the level to which water is artificially fluorinated is much lower that it is naturally in many places. Just 'pure' water would be a terrible idea
