  • I have a cat that is not vaccinated for FIV/FeLV because they don't do that in my country for single, indoor-only cats. The garage was the only space I had where he could be comfortable (don't worry, it's a winterized garage with a heated storage room, and that's where he stayed the night).

  • IMO, as someone who played Alan Wake 1 back to back with Alan Wake 2...don't do it, AW2 as a game feels sooooo much better in every aspect. Unless your tolerance for jank is really high, the difference in the gunplay alone feels like you're using two different skillsets.

Well...AW2 didn't completely get rid of the jank, just made it a smoother part of the gameplay lol.

Also the story of 2 is really heavily related to the ending of AW1, you might just spoil yourself for a big part of the mystery.

  • Yes, thank you so much for your advice the other day!

And funny enough, when the vet asked me for a placeholder name for him, the first thing I thought of was "Todd". Sorry I stole your cat's name :')

  • He has a microchip, but the vet had no luck getting in contact with the owner yet, sadly. They're hoping to at least find a vaccine record associated with it so they can clear the FIV/FeLV faster.

  • Just a regular ol' Pokeball (aka wet treats and an extra thick blanket)

  • He is absolutely so adorable and friendly! He was purring so loudly that the vet couldn't get his heartbeat or his lungs. He really just wants a home 😭

  • I followed your advice to the last detail and 48h later, it worked!

Thank you so much for writing this up, I cannot emphasize how much it helped with my confidence to get this done. You were right about the desperation too. The little guy has a missing bottom fang and a potential injured/broken-and-healing jaw, he can barely chew his food. He just wanted some help 😭

  • I believe (and someone correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a while since I've taken biochemistry) hull cleaner is usually made of phosphoric or citric acid, and it has a higher affinity to binding to the milk's (hydrogen?) molecules than the receptors it would bind to in your body to poison you. So the acid'll bind to the milk and create some sort of solid (milk curdle) that will take longer for your body to digest, giving you time to call poison control.

Similar principle to drinking vodka if you've ingested methanol, but for that mechanism I believe vodka binds to the receptors in your body faster than methanol, and that's what slows down the poisoning.

  • I don't mind the expanding in Remake as much as Rebirth tbh. Remake's does expand a lot of side character's, but they feel relevant to the story. Marlene, Avalanche trio, hell Yuffie's little side story, they're all good additions. EDIT: ALSO Wall Market! Best addition by far.

Rebirth is where I think it went off the rails a bit. The game really feels unfocused with a lot of the side quests, and it really drags a bit until you get to the last quarter of the game.

Maybe it'll feel better to revisit once we have the entire trilogy. But man, paying $70/ to play Rebirth feels a bit bad when it came out at the same time as the new Yakuza and Persona remake priced at the same point.

  • I'm usually with you on the "skip the quests you don't like", but it really doesn't feel like an option for this series. Each of the remake games are priced at $70USD and it's not even a full story, technically speaking.

It feels really bad to not do side content, because it feels like you're not getting your "money's worth" psychologically. But the side content varies so much in quality depending on the chapter that the game just feels like a drag. It especially sucks because the OG FF7 is such a well paced story IMO, with a good balance of action/plot vs silly downtime.

  • Jumping rope about to be a whole chapter LET'S GOOOOOO /s

  • And it honestly breaks the flow of the story sometimes compared to the original. Rebirth's added content felt like busywork at times to make it seem like a bigger game than it actually is.

The Honeybee sequence in Remake is peak tho, and I'll fight anyone that says otherwise.

  • Only Apple product I care about. God, the Android tablet market is so shit. I miss the Nexus line 😞

  • Edge of the property is a good idea, I was thinking about how to get it to my protected porch area since it's a ways away from the sidewalk where the kitty usually roams. Did you just put it on your grass?

  • Thank you for the cat tax 😭 Todd is adorable. Do you have any shelter setup for colder days/nights for Todd, or does he sleep somewhere else?

Your advice is sound, I think I'll start by leaving food on my porch and letting the cat approach the property. The problem is that the cat was waaaay too friendly to be a feral, and was neutered too. The only reason it bit me was because it was startled by a motorcycle starting, otherwise it was all over me (I didn't try to pick it up or anything). I think it is a lost pet.

  • I don't think you've read my entire post. My neighbour's have already been feeding it, and not taking it to a vet/giving it a safe place to stay. Only feeding. I'm trying to catch it to take it to the vet see if it has an owner/microchip. Also animal control in my city won't get a stray cat until it has been trapped.

And it doesn't have a "shaved patch", it's entire body is shaved, something that our TNR teams wouldn't do because it cold here. I think it is suffering from abuse and that's why I want to trap it.

I'm sure you mean well, and thank you for the advice, but ultimately I'm asking because of the things you stated in your post (shorter life, disease, etc). Because it bit me, my doctor and the local CDC said it's better to have it under observation, and to try to get it into a controlled area. I would also like that for my peace of mind, if I can get it in my closed yard then Animal Control can come pick it up.

  • Having a makeshift shelter outdoors is not a bad idea, thanks!
