  • I saw a photo of a father crying over the body of his baby that died of hypothermia. That child didn't even make it to double digit months lived on this Earth. It was born and died in war.

How the fuck are people allowing this to go on anymore...

  • Seems like this is on phones that are Apple Intelligence capable?

I'm on a 12 Pro, and I don't have this option. Guess I'm safe, for now...

  • think theProud Black queer momma of 2 & truth-teller bit explains perfectly why they released the bots onto the wild.

This was my first thought too. It's a peek behind the curtain to how "sophisticated" disinformation bots have actually become, and it's super interesting that there's backlash to it as most FB users love AI slop.

Maybe Meta's actually taking it down because they don't want people to start realizing how much of the social media they interact with is actually AI/LLM/chatbots.

  • It really is a class war, not a culture war.

  • Same! Books, games, new skill/hobby, new exercise. I will always have a minimum of 3 of those and rotate between them. It's like an infinite dopamine hack.

  • Now THAT is some tea. But then again, rich people being greedy enough to fuck over their own children isn't that surprising.

  • Why post just the women? If we need a new face, Bernard Arnault is right there, and the women listed aren't even in the top 15 wealthiest...

  • Some great points made by users in this thread, but my main question from reading this was, "What the hell is Gettr?"

  • Same situation as you, I would recommend at least trying medication again if you can. They have new ones that work much better (at least for me) than before.

Plus, the nice thing about ADHD meds is that you can take them in a "as needed" basis if you want, unlike antidepressants/other types of neurotransmitter medications. I take mine on days I have a heavy work/school load or when I need to be interacting with people for extended periods of time, and the days I don't I get by with my regular coffee/tea/whatever.

  • As an US-Canadian dual citizen who grew up and was educated in Canada/Europe, I'm not gonna lie, I don't get this argument. Canada as a confederation is 157 years old, we haven't had the time to carve out a unifying cultural identity.

Ask any Canadian, hell ask yourself, "What is Canadian culture?" Rick Mercer has done so many street interview segments about this (we watched them during history class for funsies). It always boils down to "We're different from/not as bad as America", "We're kind of like Europe" or "hockey". The answers were also very different if you asked francophones in Quebec, francophones outside of Quebec, Acadians, or you know...Indigenous people.

Actually Rick Mercer might have been the closest thing we had to Canadian culture. And we did nothing to protect him 😞

  • Still, it pisses me off that Not Fascism isn't enough.

I'm going to go against the grain here a little, and bring up race. Sorry to people tired of id pol, but please hear me out in good faith.

I know this is going to sound inconceivable to a lot of people on Lemmy, but there are still parts of the American voter base that cannot conceive of having a president that is black/mixed race AND a woman. They don't care about fascism, they don't care about policy, they care about the skin color and gender of their chosen leader.

Remember, Donald Trump rose as a direct response to the election of Obama.

We can pretend we live in a post-race, post-sexism society, but to pretend this wasn't a factor when hate crimes have been on the rise for multiple minority groups says otherwise. All these people coming out of the woodwork post-election results to threaten women and black people says otherwise. Wayne Gretzky and his entire family was at Trump's victory party in Mar-A-Lago, and most of the hockey fandom gave ZERO fucks.

I actually wonder if they would have done better if Tim Walz was first on the ticket instead of Harris.

  • This got me. My roommate said it was the ugliest sounding guffaw they'd ever heard.

  • Thanks for the receipts.

Man...these legislators think about gay sex in more depth, variety, and detail than any gay person I have ever known.

  • ...what about lesbians?

No seriously, if they're defaulting to anti-sodomy laws, what about the other spectrum of the LGBTQ+ that are married and don't (presumably) practice sodomy?

  • Probably playing off of this part of the article:

"[...] I discarded the argument that scholars haven’t reached a conclusion on whether the Gaza genocide is really taking place”, Marshall wrote in his decision.
