  • Thanks. The Companion app never seemed to work on my sandboxed Google Play profile on GrapheneOS however. I've since found Golden Cheetah which is a native Linux program and totally free. Zwift raising their price was the final straw for me to move on and I'm grateful for it.

GC works perfectly on Linux Mint with my Garmin USB ANT+ dongle, Garmin heart rate strap, and retains all the functionality with my Zwift Hub trainer if anyone is curious.

  • Just gotta spread the word. I got two people to switch from Windows to Linux recently. When they heard about an alternative they got very interested and jumped on the opportunity. People want an alternative, but like you say they don't know one exists, so we need to keep spreading the word of Linux.

PS. They both are enjoying the ad free experience and don't have any big issues or problems with Linux. Just learning pains

  • This is the way of the world now. Definitely avoid it. Keep spreading this information so eventually and hopefully people will boycott this behavior and thus companies will have to stop this if they want anyone to purchase it.

The policies for this game are the worst I've ever seen. They cover basically every aspect of your life. It should be illegal

  • Since you're talking about ownership, remember that most "purchases" via Steam have DRM in them. If you really want to own your library then purchase from GoG and have your games downloaded to an external harddrive. You can easily access your GoG library via Heroic on Linux.

  • It works! Thanks so much.

For anyone else seeing this in the future with the same problem, the zip was labeled "bosco" for the audio files so I used it with the ROMset called "bosco". I placed it where @UsuallyLurker said and I no longer get the warning and the audio works great.
