  • In a recent by-election I voted in, the ballots were 2-3 feet long with 91 candidates on them. This was in Canada, where we only have paper ballots. The majority of the candidates only registered as part of a protest to get the govt. to reconsider other voting methods than FPTP.

  • The fact that he finds this joke funny says a ton about him. I get the roast comedy angle people bring up here, but I just don't see how anyone could find that line funny.

I mean, I'm a leftist, an anti-racist, and yet there are are some racist jokes I still find funny due to the way they're crafted, even if I don't tell them anymore because some people still take them on the first degree (both racists and non-racists.)

But I just don't see the joke here.

  • Is the debate being simulcast on all the major networks? I seem to remember seeing the Trump/Harris debate on ABC, CBS and NBC (just with different talking heads before and after).

If so, ABC should broadcast the debate with fact-checking overlays (Pop-up video style?) and advertise the shit out of the fact that they'll be doing this.

  • I don't like the idea of restricting the model's corpus further. Rather, I think it would be good if it used a bigger corpus, but added the date of origin for each element as further context.

Separately, I think it could be good to train another LLM to recognize biases in various content, and then use that to add further context for the main LLM when it ingests that content. I'm not sure how to avoid bias in that second LLM, though. Maybe complete lack of bias is an unattainable ideal that you can only approach without ever reaching it.
