  • The EU just confirmed that they are fine with this as well. Apparently they see no problem as long as Israel says they are trying to hit terrorists. Un-f*cking-believable!

  • I use a 1€/month domain from strato.de, a very reputable German hoster. They support DynDNS, provide a backup mx for when my home server is offline, and I use their SMTP server as relay for sending reputation. No issues so far.

  • I think you're just trolling at this point.

  • But much fewer than a genocide, and it preserves the possibility of a peaceful resolution.

  • Running in and shooting everyone is not how you solve hostage situations if you actually want to save the hostages, especially with thousands of civilians in the way. All that does is ensure that the hostages are dead by the time you arrive.

And again, ofc I have no perfect solution, but genocide is worse than anything anyone can come up with. It doesn't matter that there are certain groups in Palestine, genocide is not a viable option! It's pretty ridiculous that I have to repeat that multiple times to be honest.

You are asking for a constant of terror for both sides.

I'm asking for them to finally realize that there is no other solution than somehow coming to a peaceful understanding that works for both. But the extremists on both sides will not take this seriously as long as they think there will come a day when they can just mass murder the other side and be done with it. It has to be abundantly clear that it's either a peaceful solution or no solution at all imo! And afaik the majority on both sides don't mind the other religion that much and just want this conflict to end.

  • How is that the only alternative you can think of?! This black or white thinking is total bullshit. Israel is easily strong enough to prevent most attacks and work towards a peaceful solution.

  • I loved how the Witcher 3 did a brief recap of the current story step in the loading screen, just enough to make you remember what was going on.

  • I like the way Age of Wonders 4 does it: Keywords in tooltips are highlighted, and you can hover over them to get another tooltip with an explanation and more highlighted keywords to hover over. This means you can easily explore the basic mechanics right there in the tooltips.

  • I know, that doesn't mean Israel is going away. They are the more powerful of the two by a big margin and they have very strong international support, they will be just fine. Imo it is their job to prevent as many attacks as possible, endure the rest and keep working towards a peaceful solution. I know this is hard, but Israel is easily strong enough to do that, and the alternative is infinitely worse.

  • Israel is not leaving or being demolished, what are you talking about?!

  • I think It's pretty obvious that Hamas has never been and will never be able to kill nearly as many people as Israel is killing right now.

  • I think your and my definition of "at all costs" is a bit different.

  • Ofc I don't have a solution, it would be ridiculous to claim that I did. But that doesn't change the fact that genocide is not a solution either. It's not like anything goes if no one has a perfect idea, and mass murdering civilians is pretty much the last thing on the list. It's the one thing that should be avoided at all costs imo.

  • Do you have anything better to contribute to solve the YT problem than what I have contributed in this thread?

Apparently pointing out false or at least misleading claims, instead of making them.

Our servers are secured with SHA-384 Signature Algorithm

    This is a meaningless sentence.

meaning we cant see the videos you watching, things you search

This is just not true. Go to a video on their site, the browser requests the video id as cleartext from their server. Search for something, your browser sends the search term as cleartext as well. There is nothing encrypted beyond the standard, it's all visible to them.

This is how all YT proxy sites do it, but they don't claim to use some sort of special encryption. It's widely accepted that you have to put some amount of trust into whoever is hosting the instance you are using, because they can see the things you watch and search for.

  • This is not what I'm talking about, because the vast majority of people buying the game won't have seen this. It's not enough that the info is somewhere on the internet, it needs to be front and center when buying the game.

  • Maybe not by mass murdering innocent civilians?

Defending yourself and annihilating an entire people are two different things.

  • What the hell is an encrypted server? What's special about SHA-384, where do they use it to improve privacy? Please don't bullshit people with random IT terms.

Glancing at the code, this is just another YT proxy. Ofc they have your user info, they just choose to only store aggregated data.

  • We left that territory years ago. There are big community projects and entire companies built on providing adblocking features. People will build it if the need and potential audience is great enough.

  • We could build a public database (like SponsorBlock) of known ad video slices and detect them that way.

  • You could have an app running in the background that detects ads based on the audio (like Shazam for music) and skips it for you. You could probably analyse all the video slices YT sends you and detect ads that way. I think as long as we are still in control of the playback devices we can find ways to make them skip ads.
