it's not open source but i will always recommend Davinci Resolve, by far the best video editing sodtware i've used and it's free! (well 95% of it is, it's fully functional and outstanding without paying a cent but if you want some extra presets especially for the colour grading stage then you gotta pay. how i see it is that it's free software with a few built in ads for an effects package)

Nintendo shouldn't be trying to own mechanics. if someone took their core idea and made it so good people who are Pokemon fans are buying it en masse then maybe they should take a hint and make a game that people want. but instead they're out there suing devs for "stealing" their idea of holding onto the feet of creatures with wings to glide? they're clearly unable to take down the game and decided to blindly keep stabbing away at random things trying to bankrupt them with trivial lawsuits. it's pathetic

that reminds me a bit of the Polish incident with liberum veto. in theory a good thing - those who could vote all had an equal voice to stop any Sejm gathering they wanted. but the obvious thing happened obviously - lower ranking nobles were getting bribed by domestic and foreign forces alike to veto new legislations seconds before they got signed, wasting days if not weeks of work, and basically stopping Polish politics in place. Poland only got our shit together too little and too late, in 1791 we got our constitution that finally removed liberum veto, but the damage was done, two years later the Second Partition happened
and then Tor so high up, unless you're hell bent on leaving 0 traces that thing is a pain to use, can't have it maximalised, pages load sometimes minutes at a time, no addons, just suffering. nobody sane uses that thing for more than the occasional trip to whatever deep web market is not yet exit scamming
i don't think valve does much with the data even internally. if they did at least the game recommending queue would be slightly accurate. instead i have to manually blacklist tags for it to stop showing me things i'm just deeply uninterested in. like yes Mr. Valve my steam library of RPGs, puzzle games, and open world sandboxes clearly profiles me as someone who'd be interested in the newest Fifa game every year, sure buddy
yeah democracy as it is most common today has its issues, sadly, and propaganda is easier to spread than ever. and the soviet system of rotating positions also ensured people that were easy to control because they were new to the job. i do wonder if there is any system that could work for us humans
