  • Because it all routes through one digital storefront without the possibility of competition, so digital pricing on console storefronts is artificially high.

Plus, they’ve already shut down stores on older consoles and people have lost games. That’s less likely as console companies learn how to make competent digital storefronts and account systems, many have felt the burn of losing all your digital purchases on console and won’t let it happen twice.

  • You can buy an ESP board that meets all those qualifications from AliExpress for less than $3CAD shipped.

Setting one of those up was the first time in a while I’ve been so impressed with just how cheap and accessible tech has gotten. It’s a web server with WiFi and Bluetooth shipped to my door all for the price of a chocolate bar.

  • Which is what Trump wants, as he also publicly admits he just doesn’t pay bills if he doesn’t feel like it.

Looking forward to all the lawsuits between the two should he lose.

  • I did exactly that just a few weeks back. Played through D1 & D2R on Normal, once. Beat it, had a great time.

Started the next difficulty and gave up on the first quest. I know it’s not how they’re meant to be played, but I had fun.

  • How is giving a sober and straightforward explanation of why he can’t use Firefox “bitching”? The simple fact is “switch to Firefox” isn’t a solution for everyone in every case. Burying your head in the sand about that benefits nobody.

  • If you need the feature set of Bluesky and can’t use Mastodon, please also follow https://fed.brid.gy/ if you can. This will allow Mastodon users to follow you from the Fediverse.

  • If they don’t, please also follow https://fed.brid.gy/ so your BlueSky account is federated to Mastodon. If you move to Threads, please turn on Fediverse integration.

It’s so frustrating, between Mastodon, Bluesky and Threads almost every person I used to follow on Twitter exists somewhere else. But only about half of them are accessible in any one platform.

  • I'll begin with the disclaimer that if you're already of the view that Mario Party is good and fun and not at all a worse-than-Monopoly-at-Christmas affair, Jamboree is exactly that and more of it.

The reviewer hates Mario Party as a concept, so it’s hard to take too seriously.

  • I can’t speak to Lemmy specifically but my Reddit years were ages 15-30. I think I got my fill of arguing on the internet then.

I write a lot of comments on Lemmy that I end up deleting before posting because I just don’t want the hassle of arguing with someone about it who is being deliberately obtuse or arguing in bad faith.

That’s not an indictment of Lemmy specifically, but I think my lack of interest in those arguments comes with age and I suspect my story isn’t unique, the demographics will line up for a lot of Lemmy users.

  • The only thing that (sometimes) causes the politics of Republicans to change is directly experiencing what their policies support and promote.

See all the Republicans rejecting Trump now when anyone with a brain could see how awful and dangerous he was in the 90s, all those that flipped on LGBTQ+ issues because they had a gay or trans child, those that demonize welfare until their district/state falls on hard times, etc.

I think it’s fair to expect someone who has experienced sexual harassment to be disillusioned by a party that is trying to get a convicted rapist to be President.

  • No their writing is lustier. So I’ve been told.

  • The interviewer asked if he would revoke it and he said yes he would revoke it. Words have meaning. He was asked a question, and he answered it very clearly and honestly more lucidly than his average response. He repeated the word revoke.

If he meant “let expire” he would have said “No, I wouldn’t revoke it but I would allow that to expire.” I don’t know what here is ambiguous. I get it, people hate Trump enough that sometimes they fill in the blanks with the worst possible thing. It’s hard to blame them because he usually says the worst possible things, but regardless that isn’t what is happening here.

  • Fortnite is a money printing machine. Skins that cost pennies to make go in, and billions of dollars come out. How in the hell was it ever not “financially sound” other than pissing away money on badly executed lawsuits, timed exclusives on a formerly open platform and other assorted dick measuring contests?

This guy is the worst. You’re not an underdog or a friend, you’re the worst kind of capitalist. The one who just stumbled upon a huge pile of cash and has no idea what to do with it, but is certain that he deserves it.

  • One of those egg council creeps got to you too eh?

  • Would have been nice if this context was in the article. I got into an argument 10+ years ago with some militant prick by the name of “SquarePusher” on Reddit about how his emulator was the best and anyone who dares to charge for an emulator is evil. I wrote him and his stupid emulator off then.

Turns out it’s the same guy. I’ve used it a bit since then as I wasn’t aware of other reasons to not support it other than my own personal grudge but I’ll definitely stop now.

Do you have any source for the transphobic stuff he’s said? I Googled but I couldn’t find anything other than vague references rather than specific comments.

  • What’s even sadder is that he would 100% be president right now if he didn’t constantly stick his foot in his own mouth.

Everything about Trump makes him one of the most awful human beings alive, and yet he would be the leader of the free world if he wasn’t also incredibly thin-skinned & stupid.

  • Is that transparency? Looks like the same dithering/alternating empty pixels that all Saturn ports are plagued with.
