  • Services for sure. The US has a massive surplus with the rest of the world on services which intentionally doesn't get brought up because it doesn't fit the narrative.

Hopefully the world will move away from that though.

  • The only way this could hypothetically accomplish reshoring is if it was heavily government subsidized which has not been the stated intention. Trump wants to keep tariff revenue to enrich himself and his cronies.

No one is investing millions to reshore when Trump changes his mind on tariffs every few days.

  • He wants bilateral open markets ie some form of neoliberal apocalypse. For some reason he thinks this benefits the US, as if the world is tripping over itself to buy over priced mid quality American products.

The tariffs are simply a means to that end. From their perspective it's either no or equal tariffs both ways.

  • There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:28

Christians need to step up their game and actually follow the teachings of Christ.

  • They should cut to the chase and call Jesus a Marxist.

Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. Luke 12:33

Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” Mark 10:21

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?  When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?  When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:34-40

  • US media needs to start saying fascism when it sees fascism.

The American public has been so propogandized into thinking the US is inherently antifascist (as a holdover from WW2) that even their educated can't recognize it happening in front of them.

Oh lookie here at all this ultranationalism, militarism, authoritarianism, language around purity / sanctity of our nation and scapegoating of minorities / immigrants. I wonder what we should call this absolutely unprecedented stew of bullshit that's meant to put people through a meatgrinder that concentrates power and enriches the elite?

  • There was always rot in America's foundation of which most of the world and I hope Americans were well aware.

Canada's servicemen and women died as your brothers and sisters when the US invoked article 5 of NATO in response to the 9/11 attacks.

This is a betrayal that won't soon be forgotten.

  • A public office should not be promoting a private enterprise. That's not what tax dollars are for. Musk can pay for marketing and advertising like the rest of his competitors do.

Hopefully other nations see this cronyism and tell the US administration to stuff it.
