People host signal proxy for countries where it is banned already. The primary impact of this law is on non technical people and new users thinking to switch to.
you can't say 20% a 'sweeping'. The situation is worse at other places. And thanks to true multi party democracy, AfD probably won't be in government anyway.
My ex once got rickrolled in a public bus. I said the song is cool and kept it playing on speakerphone. The whole bus genuinely enjoyed it (people singing along), nobody complained :)
you might be having SzPD. I'm not saying that but you might think about it.
I don't want to travel because it costs money.
I don't spend much money on clothing or media and save most of my paycheck.
then why don't you use some of those to travel? There are ways to travel less expensively. I had a phase like this when I was a college kid and I saved up the small scholarship (much less than an actual job) and travelled, which did something that depression meds couldn't do then. ymmv though.
A lot of things happen after you die. And if you participate actively (both positively and negatively) then some of that have your contribution and thus you leave a legacy.
Most comments mention this, I feel less amount of information (even on 'nerd' topics) and more repetition of same idea/meme. I still use reddit (without account) to find useful info.
Back in reddit days I used it more than I use lemmy nowadays. In many communities, doom scrolling will soon lead you to posts months old here, which is I guess a good thing in some way?
Also this place isn't as congested as reddit so virtually no annoyance like bots and shilling and scams going on.
Or even backdoored by state actors.
