Iv basically never met a single parent that non stopped bitched about their kids that was also a good parent.
While iv also basically never met a single parent that wouldn't shut up about how much they love their kid that wasn't a good parent.
While a parent can do a little of both, it's pretty damn obvious which way a person leans after even a short amount of time. People self report real God damn fast on this topic.
There is an increasing difficulty to even find out that join-lemmy.org exists.
To be fair join-lemmy.org also is a rather awful bit of user onboarding. It's very much a programmer design. Which is something all of Lemmy suffers from.
There's fine line between a good design, and over simplification. But Lemmy is pretty firmly a mile away playing in the "it works" pool.
No one deserves to be called stupid just because they struggle with an objectively poor onboarding process and gate keeping.
I am perfectly able to navigate Lemmy's interface and I still think it's a pile of Garbage. It suffers from the same problem most projects suffer from. Designed by a programmer not a UX designer.
Also I would rather enjoy if Lemmy didn't just become an echo chamber of extremism in the opposite direction of reddit. Cause at this rate Lemmy is already becoming a cess pit of echo chambers and extreme levels of gate keeping.
For that you need a board spectrum of people. Including those you seem "stupid".
So fuck off with your gate keeping. Be helpful and set a good example.
This suits 100% could care less. If there was profit in caring less, you can be damn sure they would create false demand for caring less, lie then chase the profit.
Honestly no company is going to realistically use anything but a standard floating window style desktop environment.
And if you can use one you can use them all. So really it's just a matter of proficiency is just you don't shit your self in feet because of a slightly different layout or color palette.
Iv had to deal with plenty of people that just moving the windows task bar from the bottom to the top was enough to make them go full stupid and forget they have been using a PC for 20 years.
So if you can do better then that you are going to be fine ina corporate context 99.999% of the time.
Out of curiosity what even does someone use that app for. Iv always just turned it on on my windows installs. It always just breaks and caused me issues. Or performed worse then just other apps for the same job.
Of the last 20 or so people iv helped swap over to Linux in the last year. They have all ended up just going straight to either endeavour or cachy.
The Ubuntu family distro like mint or pop always have some kinda of weird hardware problem with something. Everytime with out fail. Seriously I love the Ubuntu descendants like pop and mint. When they work, they just fucking work and are rock solid. But their it just works scope is just too damn narrow compared to arch for the freaks I know.
It's amazing how much weird ass hardware people use that with out something as large as the aur, you just aren't finding a reasonable solution. Fixes exist but ones that a total idiot can just install are rare. And fedora isnt much better in that regard.
Fedora also just has... Problems ane a community that makes it hard to tell new users to Google solutions
That or the "app stores" confuse the new users or cause problems inside of two weeks. Im always baffled Everytime I get a call and someone has managed to break their computer via a GUI package manager or app store.
Cachy just has everything games want pre installed and even the most nontechie gamers iv known basically hit the ground running with it. I think part of that is because it works for the exact use case a gamer would want basically out of the box with as little fiddling as needed and arch is bleeding edge enough to actually run new games reliably enough people don't fuck with shit and break it trying to make things work.
For the rest endeavour has had the best rate at actually keeping people from just going back to windows.
Seriously wild how good endeavours conversion rate is.
I'm going to start referring to kernels as the os app. Just to fuck with people.
