Holy shit is no one reading the words I'm saying. In no sane universe should Alex Jones get to buy the site back. I'm saying in an auction, the Onion submitted the winning bid and should have gotten the site sold to them.

Why does that make no sense? He has debts to pay, can't cover them, and so his assets are sold at auction to pay them off. Same thing happens to people every day via civil forfeiture.

Edit: clearly people cannot read. The Onion should have been sold the website for the winning bid that they submitted at an auction. End of story.

But that makes no sense. It's an auction. There's a time limit. It's not an acquisition. You're being forced to sell something.

SteamDB says Rimworld, but I'm almost certain it's actually Fallout: NV, as the Nexus launcher at one point bypassed Steam and so those hours aren't represented. I have about 1100 hours in Rimworld, but probably closer to 3000 in Fallouts 3 and NV.

That was fucking insane. I remember being dumbfounded to learn that the clearance agency had fired all of the investigators from that contractor, only for a new contractor to rehire them all and win the contract to process clearances again. Horrorshow.

In my experience, if you're white, male, and have a semblance of your shit together, you'll be done in 6 months or less. I've seen minorities stuck in the process for years, despite having the squeaky-cleanest of records. (On the flip side, I heard a rumor that someone in the building recently got their reinvestigation processed successfully despite having recently received their 3rd DUI...) The exception to that is if you're in the military, as the government will have a record of anything you've ever done, and if you're an officer then you probably already have a clearance to begin with.

Well, you could start by taking a break asking every single person on this thread how their life is terrible. That would make my life marginally better.
