  • Tell me you misunderstood the comic without telling me.

  • Plus, since the winters are mild, more of the larva/eggs hatch, creating a positive feedback loop...

  • I think she just wanted to punish me for being a smartass, which I was, so perhaps some forgiveness is in order.

  • I did go to her. This was at a religious school where I was lucky to be learning any science at all, and when I asked her what was wrong about it, she refused to explain besides that we hadn't learned about deciliters yet.

  • I was feeling saucy after having learned about the metric system, and for a lab report I deliberately wrote 125 mL as 1.25 dL. I lost half of a letter grade for that.

  • Ah, I got you. Sorry, I misunderstood the original comment.

  • "Her opposition" = "The fact that she opposed the bill"

  • PodcastAddict is my go-to, with the caveat that it's absolutely chock full of nerd knobs.

  • If we're being charitable, it's possible that there was a lot of drama generated by the action and the president wanted to avoid that? But still, irresponsible. Resigning in situations like that is how extremists have taken over local and state politics - because no one wants to deal with them.

  • I didn't think she was actually promoting Nazism. But if you Sieg Heil, or use the n-word or any slurs, you better have a good reason. And "council procedure doesn't allow people to interrupt the president of the board" is not a good enough reason.

  • He sees another board member do a Sieg Heil, even sarcastically, and then resigns? Borderline irresponsible.

  • Yes, but if they had invested it like they were supposed to, the grid capacity would be higher, so there would be less chance of failures...
