  • Not a film, but a TV series? It's called Jericho, and the synopsis in the Wikipedia reads:

Jericho is an American post-apocalyptic action drama television series, which centers on the residents of the fictional city of Jericho, Kansas, in the aftermath of a nuclear attack on 23 major cities in the contiguous United States.

But yeah, the execution is mediocre at best. Both the action and the drama are unbearably flimsy and cliche, even the argument flops as metal.

  • It's not just a name. It's policy, it's discourse. If it was just one isolated case, Mexico would have let it go, wait for Trump to loose another election and negotiate, but this is not an isolated case, so, it makes sense to fight back and keep Trump with full hands. Also, Google are assholes.

  • No, I don't agree. I concur in the personal level if it's bothering you, but a scientist, who is the guy that wants to use that data, will find useful what the statistic mean by "male" or "female". There are statistical differences between both groups. That's very useful.

  • Just to add to the excellent responses, even "biological sex" may be complicated, because you can argue based on different criteria. At birth, genitalia is a relatively accessible and unintrusive way to sex humans, but even at birth other criteria may be available, like a chromosomal analysis. There are also genetic tests, which are closely related to chromosomal sexing, but are not the same. Also, from embryogenic and hormonal evidence you could try to make your case. Most people would comply with all of those, but some people don't.

  • I have one snowshoe-loooking cat, Rulfo, who specializes on hacking those things. He's got three models, each more advanced than the previous one. He always finds a way to get more food out of them.

Oh, we also tried dispenser balls that would drop kibbles with the cats making some exercise trying to get them out of the ball. After a week, Rulfo was like Messi. He would not touch the limits of a 1 squared ft before getting them all out while my orange cat would act as if he was some kind of unicorn trying to pinch the ball... aaah, fun times.

  • How fast she won us was just crazy. I'm terrified to loose my old senior cats. They've been around for so many years.

As for Kima, I just felt there wasn't any other way around it. I couldn't leave her alone, she was so small, so little.

  • Like K'imā'. It's a native language, Tének, which is related to Mayan. It means "home", actually. I found her very close to the Tének area, so, we thought that name was appropriate. She was abandoned, and wouldn't survive another day alone. I brought her to a vet, offered her very basic care because of the constraints of the place, and she survived the road trip back home. She actually was a nice copilot at that point!

  • They are one species, like dogs, the variety is quite high. Wolves have numerous subspecies. As with other mammals, it's quite common to find the largest ones closer to the poles.

  • We don't agree, but I still think it is. I just described the first window that found overcomplicated, of course there may be options of UX which may have different arrangements. In any case, in my opinion, even the system applet is overcomplicated (for a system applet).

In this window, for example, what's the use of the first panel if you wanted to edit something in some WiFi connection? I'd replace the whole first panel with a "back" button and let the window breathe.

  • Launch System preferences, go to Internet and WiFi. Then you'll get a UI divided into three panels. The first one lists WiFi and networks, Firewall, Proxy and Other preferences; the second panel will list your connections, including Ethernet, WiFi 2.4 GHz, WiFi 5 GHz, WiFi 6GHz, Bluetooth, VPN and Loopback, your current connection will be auto selected; from the current selected connection you'll see in the third panel SSID, Mode, BSSID, Restrict devices, Cloned MAC, MTU and Visibility, and this is only one in 5 tabs of options.

I'm sure I skipped some other components in the same windows, but you see my point?
