  • I agree with the concept that electoral politics will not bring us the change we want but disagree with the notion that it isn't beneficial to vote for lesser evil.

We exist in both paradigms. The worse evil does directly impact our lives, this isn't debatable especially with Trump, so it makes sense to vote for lesser evil. Leftists are correct the lesser evil voting does not change the status quo (ratchet theory) but I view it as incorrect for leftists to moralize the act of voting to the point that if you vote you are not a leftist

It's a tool and revolution is easier when you aren't under threat of being sent to a concentration camp. These are issues of tactics not virtue

  • It's a psyop

They appeal to leftists by saying electoralism won't bring revolution, which is true... But then say don't vote.

Makes no sense to me. Use any lever you have. You can advocate revolution and pull the lever for lesser evil. It reduces the concept to black and white thinking while appealing to people's sense of self righteousness and laziness.

The same tactics and arguments are deployed on maga, only they're encouraged to vote

  • Why give money to bad people when you could support good people? It's a simple calculus. Remember it's not that they just so happen to be conservative, these are people who opted in to advertise that they are bad people.

  • This fact doesn't really invalidate the initial statement though.

We would not be experiencing what we are currently experiencing presently if the Dems won. This isn't an endorsement of the Dems, just reality

I view voting as a means to steer us to possibilities. Revolution and change won't come through the ballot box but who gets voted in can influence that one way or another.

  • This works in a functioning society where court orders are followed, laws are followed, institutions aren't gutted and the executive isn't seizing control of elections. Sure in normal times let them hang themselves.

But this time is different. Even if the maga cult turns, they actually aren't affected by bad policy, blunders, unconstitutionality, economy, polling ... They're in and they're in for life unless they're removed by force

  • This is insane.

Even if this was actually what people wanted, how do you just roll over for fascism? What fucking bizarre outlook.

This isn't tit for tat, left of center versus right of center boring politics. We're not getting fair elections anymore, and it wouldn't matter if 99% of the people voted their rights away, doesn't mean I have to surrender mine peacefully

  • It's hard to overstate how true this statement is

Like of course racism is a huge issue in America and other European countries (not letting them off the hook here a lot of the anti woke commentary resides there) and that is where this comes from, but the outrage this game and others receive isn't organic.

So much money, effort and planning goes into manufacturing outrage that I don't believe you can feel strongly about these things and be "normal." These people are consuming media from ecosystems that are made to keep them mad and to feed them propaganda. It is no different with maga and fake news or really any other ideology that requires people to fully buy in and accept a reality that doesn't exist.

  • I think what may make this different from that is chuds could see the fact that their king did whatever he wanted with those top secret documents as his right.

This was incompetently handled active war planning. This can and should spook even those chuds
