  • Daily reminder that it's always a good idea to tweet Trump with messages like "why aren't your ideas as good as insert scumbag here?"

Get them in the habit of tearing each other apart and we can keep them occupied for most of the next 4y.

  • Who needs public schools when we can replace them with income based vouchers to allow parents to send their kids to private religious schools?

  • The Trump admin is about to hand out trillions of dollars of public money to friends and donors. If the deficit doesn't quadruple over Trump's previous administration I'll be surprised

  • It's always been a veneer over the drive to deny public spending that would benefit poor, brown or non Christians

  • I agree in principle but abolishing it under a Republican administration is a recipe for tens of trillions handed out to Republican allies with the bill left to the next Democrat admin to clean up. I'd rather we didn't do this right now, it's almost guaranteed to lead to absurdly corrupt and wasteful spending that could otherwise fund social programs we desperately need (like single payer healthcare) during a less corrupt administration.

  • Yup, this is the way. My e-reader weighs less than my phone and is about 1/4th the size of a hardback or trade paperback with the cover or a protective sleeve. It's a game changer for travel, commuting, waiting time before appointments, etc.

I've read 200+ books in the span of time I might have read 20 if I had to throw an actual book in my bag on the way out the door.

  • I rarely turn the sound on for video content on social media, the audio track is very rarely worthwhile

  • The best we can do is a 4th straight year of record profits

  • When you use them heavily some of the incremental improvements are nice to have. I swapped my mid 2010s Nook for an ~8in Boox 3y ago or so and it was a huge upgrade.

  • I mean, no one's telling you that you can't or that you shouldn't. I just like having two decades of reading material on tap at any time without needing to lug a library around.

  • Cyber security eh?

  • One of these decades folks will realize that a good e-reader is as game changing as the iPod was.

  • Up through Android 14 everything boils down to different programs to manage a work profile. I've always used Shelter or just straight up used the built in work profile support in LineageOS.

I don't know if it's possible to create more than one separate space.

Edit: the only way I've found to make two separate app containers on android <= 14 is a combination of a work profile and Samsung's secure folder. I don't know of any other sandbox technique.

  • Looks like someone had information that threatened a large investment

  • It's not even much of a skill anymore now that there's so much focus on natural language question and answer. You can straight up Google "how do I X?" And get a relevant answer for just about anything.

Edit: I'm not even talking about generative AI here, googling simple questions without using AI worked well before the AI craze.

  • If DARE is any indication they'll come home and start crying that their dad is clearly a Communist and should be in rehab because he supports unions once a day

(My brother was convinced that our father was an alcoholic because he frequently had a single beer after work)
