  • Because it is a kind of social control. People really need to read more Foucault.

Short version: https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/foucault/#HistModeSexu On Foucault’s account, modern control of sexuality parallels modern control of criminality by making sex (like crime) an object of allegedly scientific disciplines, which simultaneously offer knowledge and domination of their objects. However, it becomes apparent that there is a further dimension in the power associated with the sciences of sexuality. Not only is there control exercised via other people’s knowledge of individuals such as doctors’ knowledge, for example; there is also control via individuals’ knowledge of themselves. Individuals internalize the norms laid down by the sciences of sexuality and monitor themselves in an effort to conform to these norms. Thus, they are controlled not only as objects of disciplines but also as self-scrutinizing and self-forming subjects.

  • I honestly don't understand why wearing a mask seem such a big deal for a lot of people.

From where I live, people wear masks are pretty common, when they are sick, when they go to congested locations (trains, buses), when they just don't feel like wearing make up. And this is **BEFORE **COVID.

Now people just returned to normal circumstances, which is they wear mask when they feel the need to instead of everywhere.

Its good. It makes you less likely to get influenza. It makes people more comfortable in meetings because their saliva can't fly into your face. It makes facial recognition more difficult. Its good for privacy.

  • There are PLENTY of people who cares about young men. Many of them are just in REAL LIFE not on the internet.

Teachers and social workers at schools, classmates (yes, you can make friends with real people too.), FAMILY. Even if all that fails, many, many NGOs need more hands and would welcome any young men willing to volunteer. They just need to go there IN REAL LIFE.

Mental health is a very difficult issue.

I understand personal liberty is important and this policy will unlikely help solve the homelessness crisis. But I have also seen how people with mental health issue decided to not adhere to treatment because they think they are "fine". And their refusal became a problem for people around.

Build more public housing, sure. But sometimes, sometimes, the doctor might be right.
