I still feel the pain of downloading something and the connection breaking at 90% because the other person logged off. There also wasn't any way to resume.
I hope you're right, but they will likely try. And the Rule of law has been eroded more and more. They already openly defied a court order to send Venezuelan people to the El Salvador work camp. They gloated about it, too.
And that was all without due process. Some even had hearings scheduled and still got deported into slavery.
Now that he successfully tested the waters with this, I'm not so sure about trusting the rule of law in the US.
The U.S. lacks the production capacity to meet domestic demand for steel and aluminum, else imports wouldn’t be necessary. I.e. domestic aluminum only covered about 15% of demand in 2024
With a 50% tariff, businesses relying on these materials will still have to import, but at much higher costs.
Trump believes this will boost domestic production, and even if that was true it would take years. However, in reality, it will likely reduce consumption due to skyrocketing prices, leading to lower demand, layoffs, and eventually recession.
I mean he can run for primary. A lot of people should. The DNC just needs to take their finger off the scale and let the actual people decide what candidate they want.
There is also a huge amount of waste going on AFAIK.
People in charge are knowingly spending money on stuff they don't need, just to spend their budget. Because if they spend less, the get less budget next round. They are essentially incentiviced to waste money.
OF creators have to go through a rigorous process to verify themselves. I can't imagine reddit doing anything close to that, but I might be wrong. If not, it will be a playground for scammers and stolen content.
It also completely ignored the cost of the consequences, which is likely going to easily outpace any money "saved".
