  • woah that looks really cool, I have to try those out. 👀

    edit: WAIT SHAREX HAS OCR????

  • I like Obsidian too. That said, unless I'm handling a huge amount of notes at once, Joplin works much better, esp. for quick notes and to-do lists. Obsidian's vaults are a bit annoying to switch through. I still use Obsidian for like one or two things but most of my notes are now in Joplin (which can sync as well!)

  • also, I've never heard of Lichess. I might have to check that out

  • kdenlive is very intuitive to use, I like using it for basic video editing. Not a professional though, so I can't comment on anything about those kind of workflows.

  • OBS is foss? huh, never knew that. I use it all the time for screen recording

  • honestly inkscape is great :D I switched from illustrator after my adobe creative cloud subscription expired, and it's been an easy transition!

  • I've also figured out that you can save the current theme as a cookie so it'll stay the same even when you reload the page!

  • will need to make the high contrast theme look a bit nicer though, but it WORKS

  • ah that makes sense. So you need to use Xcode if you want to be on the App Store. So you can still use third-party apps, but you'll either need to distribute via sideloading or an alternative app store (in the EU)

  • I've always heard that you need XCode + macOS to develop iOS apps. Maybe I'm wrong. Who knows?

  • I didn't downvote you, I'm only just reading it now. I think I might have made a mistake, yeah. iOS and iPadOS don't let you use non-WebKit browsers. I got mixed up. I'll go edit the post then. Thanks for the feedback!

  • I’m just interested to know how they’re able to make it so that you HAVE to use XCode (which is only available on MacOS)

  • Materialious has DeArrow, but apparently only the desktop and Android clients work. The web client is blocked by YT unfortunately :(

  • I find it really weird that some of this is even possible. How do they only let you make MacOS/iOS apps in XCode???

  • it was a cheap little mouse that I didn’t really care about and I wasn’t really bothered to tape the bits and such. In hindsight it was a bad idea
