  • Elon is all this company has, just like Trump is literally the only thing going on in the Republican Party. The republicans are going all the way with Trump, straight down the drain, and Tesla will do the same with Musk.

  • I still refuse to see it as a truck. The defining feature of a truck is its bed, and the bed on this thing is presented as an afterthought. Covered, undersized, impossible to access from the sides. It’s just a tank. A penis prosthesis for the undersized.

  • They’ve gone a long way on flash and sex appeal but I think a little straightforward practical value would help them a lot. The market is awash in good competition now so their novelty effect is gone. And the sex appeal has ended for everyone except for 40k cyberdouches.

  • It is jaw dropping that only 40,000 of their one million+ reservations actually turned into sales. Thats 4% conversion!

Also, trucks are not a niche market. And there is pretty minimal overlap between the kind of douche who wants one of these and people who object to Musk’s behavior. It’s designed for his cult, especially.

  • It would help as a mass coordinated action, which I’ve never even seen anyone bother to suggest. Maybe organize a no-tip day, maybe get some servers involved so it can really be about changing things for the better for them.

But I’ve never seen even an inch of that, which leads me to believe that what we have here is a bunch of people who don’t tip in order to save thrmselves a buck which, let’s face it, is the only thing they accomplish. They tell themselves it’s a gesture against an unjust system in order to salve their conscience (another totally selfish act).

  • It’s one of those things that would help in a mass coordinated action, but accomplishes nothing and does harm as a solitary act. I’ve never seen anyone even suggest a mass coordinated action on this, which leads me to believe that most people who don’t tip out of “protest for the system” are actually primarily motivated by saving themselves a buck, since that is the one thing it accomplishes. See, I have “thought about it,” and I don’t think people who don’t tip truly have.

  • Especially because a lot of people in this thread seem to protest the tipping system by just not tipping. That only hurts the worker, y’all. It isn’t gonna change the system.

  • The same thing as if he were sick or otherwise “incapacitated.” Being locked up by kidnappers incapacitates you. The VP would step up. However in practical terms the VP would absolutely downplay this, always trying to give the impression that the president will be rescued any minute now and everything will go back to normal.

  • Have you ever heard of “broken window syndrome?” It’s the idea that once there are a couple of broken windows on buildings in an area, quickly more will start getting broken. But if every window is intact, you will only get the occasional vandal being bold enough to break the first one.

It’s not scientific and may not even have any truth in it, but there is something to be said for the idea that if people see others doing something, they are more likely to go ahead and do it themselves.

To the point: if you see thousands of butts everywhere, smokers do too and probably consider it normal by now, and don’t care.

This only explains how things go from bad to worse. So who drops the first butt? Well: it’s the most selfish, lazy, inconsiderate guy around. There always is one.

Funny how all this adds up to the fact that we will inevitably herd behind the worst person around. Maybe that’s why we suck so bad as a species.

  • Do you actually want to stand there while someone is called over to unlock these? I get nothing out of that service experience. Would far rather press a button in an app. It’s just dumb that things are behind glass in the first place.

  • Your entire premise of making it the same as QAnon or not the same as QAnon is full of murky definitions and ultimately pointless. If you have a critique of this video’s contents, then by all means make it with substance. QAnon is a rich topic and you can no doubt point to many similarities and I can point to many differences. Ultimately: so what?

It sounds like you are here to say “leftists are full of shit just as much as anyone” and were 99% of the way to congratulating yourself on successfully proving this from the moment the post was made.

I really only have one question about all that. Are you 14?

  • QAnon was entirely based on a supposed mole in the government releasing inside information.

The reaction to tech shown here is completely based on their own statements and behavior, which is all in the open, and the belief that business interests will prioritize their own profits (which is not difficult to believe).

    Hardly tin foil time.

  • I’m actually stunned that a cell-level map, the connectome, is even possible. Are we saying that every fruit fly has all these individual brain cells in this very particular configuration? I always assumed that major brain organelles might be the same from individual to individual but not down to the level of individual neurons. Am I reading something wrong or are individuals really similar as this?
