The CBC television show, "This Hour has 22 Minutes" now has more than enough signatures for its petition campaign to have Canadian Alliance leader Stockwell Day change his name to Doris Day
The show is using the Alliance referendum formula, that would allow a national vote on any issue, if three per cent of the electorate, or about 350,000 people, signed a petition.
Asked during her interview with CTV News whether she would be open to a position in Prime Minister Mark Carney’s cabinet, May said with a laugh: “Sure, but it’s pretty hypothetical.”
She added the caveat that she’d be unwilling to give up the Green banner for a position in cabinet, so any seat on Carney’s front bench would be as a member of the party she’s represented in the House since 2011.
Our left leaning leaders should update tax laws to address the growing wealth gap. And start building homes so average Canadians can afford a decent home in a decent location.
That's the key here - the Liberals under Trudeau waited too long to move on affordability, and then they didn't do enough. I hope Carney & co can show quick improvements in housing so the CPC is less attractive.
I don't really use a mouse or window switcher, so I prefer the dedicated hotkey. It's nice to have a single keystroke that brings me in or out of the same terminal across every desktop.
It was too noisy. My wife and I used to live in a small apartment. I'd leave my Linux box on all the time. Running Firefox, it'd periodically spin up the fan, which was loud enough to annoy my wife at night, and me during the day. Chrome didn't spin up the fan. I switched and we stopped hearing my noisy computer.
This was a while ago. I can't remember if it was Firefox or Mozilla at that point.
eh. There's growing support for pipelines. A smart PM would move fast (probably amending bill C-69, because he said he wouldn't repeal it), and offer lots of goodies to sweeten the pot.
I'd enjoy the schadenfreude of watching the Conservatives go through another Reform/PC split, but that gave the Liberals an easy decade. It would be better for the country if CPC could grow a brain, accept climate change exists, and focus on real issues (affordability and healthcare), rather than the culture war.
It would be amazing if the NDP filled that role, but they don't get votes on a lot of ridings.
Like another commenter said, I might as well wish for a pony.
