Infinity was originally a Reddit app that has been forked. This came up more than once:

"This is intended".

Maybe that's different now, but normal people don't pay attention to feature upgrades on open source projects that they don't use, and the fact that this was intended behavior led me to believe there was no particular reason it would ever change, especially since it still hadn't when I last used the app some time after the dev commented in the second screenshot.

It was like that because of a deliberate design choice that enjoyed widespread support

Too bad Infinity has that weird fixation on not marking posts as read persistently, it would be great if not for that.

It makes sense when you consider the fact that the Imperial system and the U.S. Customary Unit system are both descriptivized, using units based around specific real-world applications with no deliberate regard for interoperability. This mirrors how languages typically develop, except for French, and France is the cradle of the SI. Therefore if you support the metric system you also have to support linguistic prescriptivism or you're a hypocrite, thank you for coming to my TED talk, I am not taking questions.

Well for what it's worth, you can't be downvoted on Beehaw. Plus there are way more people here who aren't dicks than there are on reddit, which helps too.

I don't think this is a good article. Not only is it full of histrionics and fallacious arguments, it's also wildly historically inaccurate. The American obsession with hyper individualism is not due either primarily or even in large minority to the existence of single-family houses with yards, it's cultural and is the confluence of dozens of forces. Articles like this just increase the masses' paranoia about how the left is full of out-of-touch moralizers who want to forcibly resettle them into a commieblock hovel.

Hopefully your vetting process weeds out infiltrators from Exploding Heads and Lemmygrad. The last thing Beehaw needs is to have "criticizing Russia's government in any way" or "criticizing China's government in any way" to quietly become criteria of Not Nice behavior.

That's why "neurodivergence" is used instead of "neurodiversity".
