I recommend you to also make sure to configure your router so no other device but your pihole can make DNS requests. some devices bypass your DHCP settings and use custom DNS servers.
they already sell appliances that do that. Daikin Altherma line, for example, can combine A/C, sanitary hot water and home heating.
In summer it takes heat from the inside of your house an puts it in the water tank. In winter, it takes heat from the air in the atmosphere and puts it both inside your home and water tank.
some AC/ heat pump models pull the heat in the air and put it into water. those have existed for quite some time. look for “air to water heat pump”.
of course, there is some residual heat from the operation of the machine itself. and once the water is hot enough it will continue to release the heat into the air, but they do release way less heat into the air than regular AC units.
Back in 2021 the supreme court had already declared abortion as not a crime, but the sentenced, while settled a precedent, did not applied in the whole country. This new sentence applies in the whole country and also forces mexican healthcare public institutions to provide abortion to any person that requests it.
Linux. I think I started playing with it around 2001. I was a computer nerd on high school and I wanted to be a hacker. I would be lying if I said that The Matrix wasn't a big factor. To this day I use black console with green text.
I love e-bikes but also think that many of those are motorbikes in disguise. a 250w motor is enough for most people (excluding cargo bikes, of course). I totally agree with you with the rest of points. In general measures that harms adoption of bicycling are a bad idea
unfortunately, in the age of streaming the measurement for success is not "how many people watch it" but "does it bring new subscribers and keep the current ones?".
if a show can be removed without fear of people cancelling their subscriptions, removing them saves them money.
I don't think they claim the movie is misleading. They are using the recent popularity of the topic brought by the movie to expose some harsh truths that might otherwise be ignored.
they make their income out of tourism because that is what government decisions have fostered. after the 2009 crisis, it became a quick and easy way to reintroduce people into work. Unfortunately it is an exploitative industry that allows little possible grow to people working in it.
Most people in that industry are not making a living out of it, they are trapped in it.
Im talking about a very specific kind of tourist. Im well aware some do bring value, but far too many only take it away.
additionally, the fact that tourism is a big chunk of the economy does not mean we should pander to it. it is absolutely possible to redirect investments into other economic areas to make them grow.
I lived in Barcelona for a decade. recently I moved to small town (also in the Mediterranean cost). I agree with the sentiment.
I am not fully onboard with the "tourists go home" feeling, but I do get where it comes from. After a while it does become annoying seeing people using the place you live as a party location. A group of people come, get a cheap airbnb and buy a lot of alcohol in some supermarket. They don't bring any value to the city.
In my current town it is not so much the British, but German and Benelux people. It is frustrating not being able to go to a supermarket to get food because the place is crowded by people who got a cheap bungalow somewhere in a camping location.
