  • Nooo! They wanna tell us psychedelic drugs on the right side are good for mental health? Wow. Thanks for the info. Making just knows that for a few ten thousand years. "Stüdy" - pff

  • Caracal filter

  • When I was younger, I desperately wanted a bushy beard, had none to speak of, today I'm older, could grow one easily, don't want one anymore, makes me look old. Shaving is so obnoxious. I guess it's one of the grass on the other side it's greener thing. Sigh.

  • BS. I wanted to build one on my property, but here in Germany you need a permit if you wanna build a birds house (I'm not kidding, in some areas you do), I didn't get one, neighbors and shit, so I sold the house, we're moving to Denmark this year. No neighbors, no problems. Especially not German neighbors! As long as you have a Danebrog (Danish flag) on your property, you can build a lot. It's your property at last.

  • Hieroglyphs are actually not that simple, my ex gf was an Egyptologist, I went to quite a few lectures with her, that was a highly complex language, more akin to Japanese Kanji, with deep layered subtexts. Those desert dudes were crazy. If you have ever have a chance to visit a lecture about hieroglyphs, do it, it'll blow your mind. Or how they calculated time, or even saw it, culturally and individually, wow. They were so unbelievably far ahead, I sometimes compare them to the octopus of human development, they should rule the world, but there was that one thing, that prevented it. (For the analogy: the octopus dies when their kids are hatching, would they have the ability to pass their knowledge along to them, today eight armed space suits would be en Vogue)

  • Nobody ever went on a Redshirtey or Sailorey.

  • So... Her last good movie was Silence of the Lambs, right? Oh, that was her first one, too.

  • Nyxt ftw

  • Many years ago I wrote some puny lines that randomly and repeatedly inserted the word "documentation" as comments into code. I stumbled upon one of those abominations shortly before Christmas, I laughed so hard as I remembered. I couldn't explain to anybody why, though.

  • Last time I used Windows (for browsing) it was still the explorer. Is that obnoxious paper clip still a thing?

  • Problems of our time: People can't sleep anymore, wars and hate and ignorance is spreading, people can't sleep anymore

  • Drive softly, but shift a big stick.

  • No! You wanna tell me, a giant publicly traded company treats their employees like shit? That is the core of the concept. Sometimes I wonder what would happen, if the majority of the workers for these companies just drop out and start their own little venue, helping each other etc IMO that could be one way to fight back that killer capitalism.

  • It's actually a conscious decision to worry or not. For many people this thought concept is calming: it was so unlikely, that this little ape we all descend from, even survived in that unyielding nature. But the ape even prospered. If the ape survived for hundreds of thousands of years, you will too. You can make money again. You will find a roof over your head every time. Fear feeds fear, just put it on a diet. It's not that you have to do something, you just have to do nothing. Do you breathe? There. You believe in yourself, otherwise you wouldn't.

    Have a nice one

  • So let them learn, I say. If you lock them away, the hate spreading just continues. Or then together with the people they " hate", every day, show them, that they are individuals and humans. Let them learn. If we don't do this, it'll never stop. Like other crimes.

  • I beg to differ, kind Sir or Madam. When you lock them away, they spread the hate even more, making things worse. Instead put them together with immigrants, their families, individuals. Daily, for a long time. It's easy to hate a concept, it's almost impossible to hate people if you get to know them. Show them their wrong ways. Humans are social animals (except hard cases of sociopaths or psychopaths - btw it's not that common, as some want to make you think, most - by far - sociopathical behavior is learned and can be unlearned)

  • Don't just put them in jail. Let them work with immigrants, daily, put them as a guest into mixed families, show them their wrong ways. In jail they just spread the hate even more. It's much harder to hate real individuals than unpersonalized concepts. We - as in "we all, humankind" - have to take responsibility for these things, everybody a small bit, it doesn't hurt. Just lock them away does nothing, it actually makes things worse in the long run.

  • TIL there are also racist coins:

    'dem white crackers are crazy
