Both beliefs are fine, but please realize the hypocrisy

If you run Ubuntu on a production server, you better having snapd disabled.
For anyone genuinely wondering why it's called DeepSouth, instead of just making jokes about how people from the Southeastern United States are all illiterate bigots,
"The supercomputer is aptly named DeepSouth, paying homage to IBM's TrueNorth system, which initiated efforts to build machines simulating large networks of spiking neurons, and Deep Blue, which was the first computer to become a world chess champion. The name is also a nod to its geographical location.
DeepSouth will be based at Western Sydney University and is a key contributor to the growth of the region as a high-tech hub."
Fun fact: the banjo's closest relative is actually a Gambian instrument, as it was originally created and played by African slaves brought to the Caribbean and United States.
I prefer to refer to him as "failed comedian Stephen Crowder."
The ideological signifying here, though, is squarely situated within the language of American politics. All Lives Matter was a reactionary counter to Black Lives Matter, a distinctly American political movement. Similarly, "both sides suck" is something which has been repeated ad nauseam about American politics. As such, the meme suggests itself that it's about American politics. At least that's how I'm reading it. If the OP meant it to be about Israel and Palestine, I think they could have framed it better.
This is an ancient opinion. People have been complaining about America's two party system for literal centuries.
Ah, good catch.
Sure, I generally agree with that, but that being the case we should talk about dogs purely in terms of size and weight. Big dogs (and I mean ALL big dogs) are dangerous for the same reason big people are dangerous (potentially) - it's why weight classes exist in competitive martial arts.
Open source is great, but the reality is that closed source software is still a huge chunk of the industry. Most mobile apps are closed source. Almost everything Apple has touched is closed source. Google, Microsoft, IBM, OpenAI, etc. Closed source software development is very dominant in the industry. More so than I think Stephenson ever thought it would be.
For newer python people, they see return a or b and typically think it returns a boolean if either is True. Nope. Returns a if a is truthy and then checks if b is truthy. If neither are truthy, it returns b.
It's sad because he has a lot of ideas that I agree with or find interesting, like how a long time ago he thought that open source software can, and should, become the dominant mode of software development. It's not the case in present day, of course, but it'd be nice if it were. That said, I remember having Snow Crash on my shelf for....oh, around 15 years or so and finally got around to reading it earlier this year/late last year. And oh my God that man cannot write a story. Cool, but superficial characters? Sure. An interesting setting where the world is violent and chaotic and capitalism has turned scientific advancement and private industry into a parody of itself? Also sure. Meaningful dialogue, plot structure, nuanced characterization, decent pacing, etc? Lol, no way, now let me describe my character doing a backflip while parrying an electric katana.
Indeed they did.
Science suggests this is not actually the case and that environment has a much larger impact on animal behavior than almost any factor: https://www.science.org/content/article/your-dog-s-breed-doesn-t-determine-its-personality-study-suggests
I did say this in the old place and people got PISSED.
No breed of dog should exist because people shouldn't intentionally breed dogs. It's inhumane and most of them wind up in kill shelters. If you want a dog, adopt a mutt from a pound. It'll be healthier and happier than any other dog you could get. That said, breed characteristics are something pushed by dog breeders themselves. The actual science suggests dog breed has little to no impact on temperament. https://www.science.org/content/article/your-dog-s-breed-doesn-t-determine-its-personality-study-suggests
Pitbulls are not more genetically predisposed towards biting or mauling than other breeds and the supposed "statistical data" on the subject is based around a confluence of inaccurate metrics caused by 1) people not being very good at accurately identifying dog breeds, 2) existing groups that hate pitbulls pushing bad statistics for political purposes, and 3) a self-fulfilling prophecy of pitbulls having a bad reputation and actively being sought out by people who want vicious dogs and who will treat their dogs in such a way as to encourage that behavior. And I say all of this as someone who does not own a pitbull and probably never will.
Are people just forgetting 4 Loko existed (in its original form, I mean)? I've never been so drunk so quickly. I drank a few of them one time without realizing how much alcohol was in one of them. They apparently ranked from a few percent ABV all the way up to 14. I woke up in a pool of alcoholic Strawberry Lemonade vomit.
I don't really understand the appeal of this. What command line software is there on MacOS that there isn't an adequate equivalent to on Linux?
Eh, your cheaper compact sedans are comparable. It's definitely not great, but good enough. The front seats are comfortable, at least.
This argument conflates belief with religious practice. The core similarity of both beliefs is that the universe is intelligently designed. And you can believe in the idea of a God without participating in any kind of formal religious practice. That "most" religious belief is wrapped up in a particular religious tradition is ancillary.
