I concur with this. Glad to see that Tumbleweed is offering it OOTB now, as I believe the only two choices prior to this (if you wanted it setup out of the box) was Arch and NixOS.
Edit: As pointed out below, Pop_OS! also supports systemd-boot OOTB, not sure how I forgot about it as that was my first exposure to systemd-boot.
The new version of COSMIC is looking great! System76 is putting some fantastic work into it, and really quickly too!
Question though, is the first image in the blog post (under "Swap mode for tiled windows") supposed to be animated? It has a gif extension, but it just seems to be a static image for me in Firefox.
Also a Sync user, for me the only option that came close to Sync and Boost for me was Summit, which people also did not like due to it being closed source.
Thunder is kinda close, as is Connect, but AFAIK Sync is still the only one to have any admin tools built into it (haven't been able to try out Boost for Lemmy yet).
Just as a heads up, while Ruben was the one who made the comment in the screenshot, Ruben isn't the one who posted the screenshot here in the comment you replied to 😅
Because Two-Factor Authentication is generally supposed to be under the principle of "Something you have and something you know", the password being the "know", and using a TOTP on an app via your phone would be the "have" (the phone).
I suppose if your email is restricted to the something you have/know it's a bit better, and certainly better than nothing - but not by much.
As far as I had last heard, most laptop (and phones) batteries have charging circuits that are designed to let the battery discharge a bit to prevent the health from being degraded quickly - not all of them actively report that process though and tells the OS it's at 100%, so that the user doesn't wonder why their charge is dropping while it's plugged in.
I'm not sure if that is all the same case, as the only laptop that I've had for a while is a really old MacBook Pro that runs Fedora, but I don't use it super often because I prefer my desktop - so I don't keep up with a lot of laptop-oriented stuff unfortunately.
Out of curiosity, what options were you looking to configure? Since I'm not familiar with these docking stations, I wasn't even aware they had configuration options haha.
I'd definitely love to move away from Discord, but unfortunately I've not been able to get my friends to move to anything else. Additionally, I have to use Discord for work (yes, it's strange - definitely wouldn't have been my decision) so I'd still be stuck using it even if my friends went over to something else.
Hopefully one day we'll see something like Element X for desktop. Right now the only way to run it on PC is through the iOS compatibility thing that some MacBooks have, AFAIK.
Yes, but a lot of devices don't support getting root access, or come with caveats from doing so (I remember at least on Sony devices in the past, doing so permanently erased the proprietary camera blobs which resulted in forever low quality pictures).
That being said, you can disable system apps in Android (with exceptions, can't disable SystemUI obviously) which is about as good as deleting them. Since they're on the system partition which is separate from the user data partition, it doesn't actually grant you any usable free space anyways AFAIK.
For me, it's been Last Epoch which is an ARPG. It's been doing a fantastic job of scratching the itch that Diablo 4 just failed to do.
I finally made it past the campaign and am in the endgame (as far as I understand), and I've had a good time trying to come up and play with various builds on my Runemaster character!
Also, American Truck Simulator for when I just want to turn my brain off and relax.
Ah I don't know how I forgot about Pop! Pop was actually the first distro I used that had systemd-boot OOTB, and I've loved it since then.
Haven't been on Pop for a while, but I'm definitely looking forward to giving it another go once the new Cosmic desktop is finished!
